Is it Time to Kick Some Ass? #cthulhu

One Cycle Ends,Another Begins

First, the good news. I did finish this Cthulhu/Kraken inspired drawing. However, I was enduring some stress during my creation of this piece. It is never my intention to be perfectly symmetrical, as the human form isn't perfect itself, but this one wound up being a little more "off" than I intended...

Here is a closeup.

Why? What is Going On?

Well, there is a group of transients who always sit at this one picnic table who do nothing all day but smoke pot in an area where no smoking signs are clearly on display. They interrupt my work. They will wander over while I am in the middle of a Tarot Reading and start yammering away like a foaming dog who tuned in to too much Alex Jones, ruining the experience for everyone.

I can deal with this problem. What I found out later that night is unacceptable.

As I walked to my camp after 12 hours of working and not making any money, the "lead" bum stopped me to ask me how I did that day.

"I didn't make anything". -LSD

"Well, I made about $150-$200, just like I do everyday. I shouldn't be homeless, ha ha ha!"-Bum

Waving the Bullshit Flag

This was being processed as I tried to calmly walk away from him. Here is a man who does nothing but sit on a picnic table, smoke pot, drink beer in public, and leave a huge mess behind that makes the whole town look bad. The cops ignore him, which tells me he must be buying them off, as he could easily afford it. He uses the other homeless to help prey on people's sympathy but does not reward them in anyway, because they always come over to bum off of me and scare my customers away.

Compare that to me...

  1. Every morning I wake up and clean up camp.
  2. As I walk into town, I pick up all of the trash I can.
  3. I bless the town with my crystal walks before setting up shop on the street. I clean my area first. My backpack weighs a "ton" so this is really hard work.
  4. Besides selling art, I do Tarot, more often than not for free, which is a difficult job, as people tend to become emotional and require help. This help is offered, of course.
It is incredibly draining and some of these folks take up a lot of my time which repels other customers.
  5. I watch people's kids. I provide security. I keep a watchful eye on everyone.
  6. Even if I am low on money, I will give a few bucks to those in need or share my food.
  7. To sum it up, I go out of the way to help as much as I can.

It seems to me I would be much better off pretending to be pathetic and contribute nothing to society?

Well, I picked up that greedy asshole's trash and put onto the picnic table for him. He can "work" and clean it up before pretending to be broke and sucking money out of ignorant people who think that I am the bum.

What would you do?

Much Love?

Amazing piece of art @shaman-ra

Curated by @jacobite

Thanks you @artzone, @jacobite! You better believe there will be more like these in the future! I have some work to do soon which should pay me enough to invest in some better art supplies for this homeless art adventure that is about to see some snow soon, lol. They do make winter-proof sketchbooks, don't they?

This is truly great, did you ever attend any art-school?

/FF

(Salutes!) Yes sir! 4 years, sir! Well, I attended "college" via an outreach course offered by my professor, Yvonne Lewis, who has long since passed before the internet age. For this reason I have no images of her art to share which is sad, as it would help you understand why I have such good uses of color. It all came from her. This class was taught in a barn that was converted into a house in SW Kansas. I liked learning that way, as the classes had very few students and I was able to get a lot of attention from the professor. Thanks for asking!

Cool man, converted barn, sounds like a cozy inspirational place...

It was, she had collectibles and "knick-knacks" from all over world that she would arrange into compositions for us then make us draw them. If I can unearth any photos of these drawings, I will share them. The sketchbooks that contain the images are stored in KC so I hope I have them on my EHD somewhere.

@shaman-ra
Ok, that sounds like fun!
Did you resolve the conflict with that problematic person?

/FF

I did not. I just tried my best to be present and make $$$. My ride bailed on me so I am going to get offa here soon to go find a ride.

Ha ha, "uses", lol, nah, that mistake stays!
