I Sold my "Blue Boy"!

The Good News...###

My time in Glenwood Springs has been productive, in spite that I haven't slept well the past 3 nights and have experienced a level of pain a that I have not endured since I was officially employed by the sewer..., er, System. Most of the hard work is hauling the backpack and camp gear, which together I'm sure weighs more than I do.

Yesterday I spent time at a dead store front with my art/tarot "setup". I spent some time on a new drawing which is pictured below. After 6 hours and only making $2, I decided to give it a rest and try to find some cheap food. When I had returned, however, it came to my attention that the places around that offer free water were closed and it was getting dark fast. I knew I would have to make more $$$...

Exhausted, I sat at a table in front of a Coffee Shop that had ripped me off earlier then attempted to make a few bucks with tarot with no focus on art. My paintings merely sat there. Nobody approached me...

Disappointed, I struggled my way off the chair to collect my things to drag them up the hill. I had only made it to the first stop light when my exhaustion caused me to almost fall over in front of a group of folks who looked like they had just left the Caviar Jamboree. A woman from that group approached me to ask,

"Is that art for sale?"

The Bad News...

"Of course they are for sale, madam."

I explained the situation involving my art work and how it was becoming increasingly difficult to haul it around without subjecting it to damage. She gave me all the money she could for the two paintings, which wound up being $200. Not anywhere near their worth, but, it made me happy to make a little money and pass the burden of care to a willing individual.

That being said, I am "saved" for the time being. It will be so much easier to sleep at night knowing I won't have to wake up in the middle to deflect the rain and vicious animals away from my paintings. For now, I am going to focus on drawings/tarot, since those are easy things for the homeless artist to carry.

Now to make my camp situation better. If any of you have tips feel free to share!

Much Love,
Larry Sage Dreamtree

PS: I am in the town where Doc Holliday went to drink booze then die, how effing cool is that?

That's awesome!! Glad you got some money in your pocket and that you're in a good place. ;)

I should of left that day, things I am used to being cheap are even more expensive in this town for reasons I cannot fully explain, lol. There are no cheap 8's here. That makes me sad, because I wanted to get edibles too but can't now because I don't know when I will make real $$$ again. Yesterday was the busiest day and it was a total bust. All I made in 12 hours was $3. All of which came out of pity. They were not Tarot customers.

Also, no free bus, which I find strange for a Colorado tourist town.

You can hide your food/stuff, up in a tree whilst camping, like have it on a string over a branch high up, and pull it up, when you are not there...

Best of luck!

Thanks, mate. I can do things like this when I am not camping in a park, which is kind of what I am doing this week because other options are too far to walk. Actually, since being in Glenwood, I had people walk up and give me their doggy bags from the expensive establishments around town. I eat better this way than with a job sometimes. The remnants of those $15 Nachos were the bee's knees. :D It is Oktoberfest today, maybe I can get some free beer too?

I wish you a whole keg of beer my friend!!!
Best of luck quenching your thirst!!!

Cheers!

Thanks. It was sort of a bust. The fest was not in its planned location, so I couldn't set up close to it like I wanted. So I set up in the main plaza, somehow missed a guy who was going to bring me a burger, and only made $3. I still had fun, though. The main issue I have with it is I wanted to do good on that day so I could take today off and get to a hot spring. Now I can't decide what to do... Try to make money again that might lead to disappointment, or, relax my sore body that really needs a bath? I have all day to choose, I suppose. Hope you had your own Octoberfest or something fun otherwise! Peace!

@shaman-ra
Peace bro, thanks for sharing your adventures, stay safe!!!
