Art Sale and Auction Before it Snows

In Times of Need

For those of you who have been following me, you are probably already aware of how volatile the life of an artist can be. The money we make is unpredictable and dry periods can be as overbearing as a hospital waiting room with no wifi signal. Winter is drawing near and I need a sale that isn't some sale that happens out of total desperation that yields me an amount of money that ultimately does not help in a world where the cheapest used bike in town is $400.

For this reason, I am auctioning this piece, "Made in His Image" on Ebay.

I Have Done this Before...

I am doing this because I have a problem with the advice people give me. They tell me, "Your art is too expensive" so I make it cheap then they don't buy it. They tell me, "Your art isn't expensive enough" so I price it really high for collectors just so they don't buy it. Don't complain about an artist's prices if you had no intention to buy. We don't like being teased like that, ya know?

I am changing all the prices on my original works at Artopium to reflect "sale" prices. I have done this several times in the past, as people complained about the high prices. Making the prices lower in those instances did not change the game in any way. Hey, no reason why it will happen that way this time around, eh? Positive Energy, Dreamtree, Positive Energy!!

Once Bitten, Twice Shy

Sadly, I sold a masterpiece that was worth several grand for less than $200. Don't ask me to price my work any lower. You have no idea how much time and money I have invested into art/music. It hasn't paid off in this whole lifetime. In total, I have spent close to $20,000 in my pursuit of art and music. In total, I have made about $5000 back. That is $15000 in debt yet to go. That will never be paid off selling these for $200 so be thankful I am so desperate, yet again, to price my work way lower than it is worth. If none sells this go around, I will never price it this cheap again. It takes a lot of work to change all of those prices.

Sorry if I seem "disgruntled", it is just the truth of being an artist in a world where people gladly pay $200 for a tattoo of Bart Simpson on their butt. Really? Anyone can draw Bart.

Things will get better, even if nothing sells. If I am lucky, I will find another free food item left out for the homeless and eat like a king again!

Much Love,
Larry S. Dreamtree (artist Brandon Truster)

Thank you for adjusting the prices on Artopium. They are all very reasonable for your very collectible art. ;)

You're welcome. It made my Jew mad, though. Thanks for commenting! :p

Thanks, @artzone! This style is so much fun to do it is less like work and more like the joy of constant discovery. The work comes in going to the bathroom with that backpack.... lol. Much love!

Thanks! Now I feel really bad about feeling bad yesterday, as it allowed me to not get that piece finished. I didn't make any sales the whole weekend while bums who did nothing get $200 a day. The Tarot wasn't making it seem staying there was going to make the situation better. I am on my way out of this town to do some work for my Uncle and will hopefully have time to get this drawing finished. It would be a shame to finish this one outside of the mountains. Thanks for the support! Much love!
