Reasons why plagiarism is not good for Steem Blockchain, Everyone Should Post There Own Content
Plagiarism is the act of taking someone's ideas and presenting them as your own. It's extremely unethical, however, the concept of plagiarism extends far beyond just writing and copying.
People have been copying each other's work for rewards. The problem is that now internet makes it much easier to do so and go undetected. Essentially, if you're on the internet you're likely to find someone who has copied your work and presented it as theirs.
First, what is plagiarism? In its simplest form, plagiarism is taking someone else's work and presenting it as your own. This can take many forms, including story, partiality and even direct copy/paste of someone else's ideas.
Basically, when writing about plagiarism on steemit, the first thing I wanted to clarify was how people find out if another author has copied their work. Various sites offer different definitions of the term- one describes it as 'the act of using another person's ideas and words without giving them credit.
Next, I wanted to look at what authors can do to stop plagiarism from harming their platforms. Unfortunately, there's no universal set of rules that all steemit content creators follow when writing or promoting content. For example,
some content creators use different names for their blogs or websites when putting together ideas for new works or projects.
This makes it easier to trace any similarities between their current work and something they've already written down- something known as metathesis (changing the name of things) practice.
Additionally, some use quote blocks when quoting other people so they know where they got their ideas from. Other than that, there's not much content creators can do to stop plagiarism from claiming their works as their own.
