Ulog#205 Cactus from a patient
This cactus will always have memories for me because it came from one of our patients who has cancer. After she was discharged from the hospital she gave me and some of my other colleagues cacti. I really appreciate that gesture. Whenever I see the cactus it just reminds me of her and how positive she is with life despite her condition. It just sucks to see people who are affected by that disease especially when it's terminal. It's like you want to help them become a lot better but their body couldn't handle it. Usually I just comfort them and keep them positive in life. I noticed that people who are negative and who refuse to have the disease may have a bad prognosis, that is why I try my best to keep them happy no matter what. I just pray that there will be less people who would suffer from these kinds of diseases in the future and those who have it now would recover as soon as possible.
If you looked through those photos and you're curios on what that insect on top of the cactus, that's actually an ant on top.That ant is a weaver ant queen. My cousin gave it to us but unfortunately it died, I think it was due to the weather because he got it La Union where the temperatures are higher and brought it up here to Baguio where it's a lot colder.

well, it's amazing knowing that there are people who are still positive despite from their condition. It's sad because sometimes our comfort can't heal them. Even so, in their thoughts they're happy that someone are concern for them.

Nice post and beautiful cactus!! Can that ant survive on its own, as ants normally lives in a colony together in one nest?? (I don't know that type of ant)
Thank you so much for your compliments. When an ant queen is starting a colony they can actually survive on it's own. I just tried raising it inside a test tube. Weaver ants usually use the silk of their larvae to construct their nest. THank you so much for dropping by!
