Hello?? I am @seunglimdaddy.

I am a 40 year old man living in Korea.

Today I am writing for the first time in English.

For the first time, I am going to write about Korean festivals.

There are two unique holidays in Korea.

One is Seolnal, and the other is Chuseok.

Chuseok is a holiday for harvesting well grown crops, like Thanksgiving in the West, and giving thanks for these things and sharing time with the family.

Seolnal is similar to Western Happy New Year. However, the reason for not being January 1 is because there is a tradition based on the lunar calendar in the East, unlike the West.

So there are several lunar holidays in East Asia including China, Korea, and Japan.

I eat a lot of food on Seolnal.

First, rice cake soup is a rice cake made from rice and boiled soup. It can be a kind of custom, and there is a story that if you eat rice cake soup, you increase one year.

Second is to make dumplings. You may have tried dumplings in a Chinese restaurant to make a lot of it in East Asia. However, the taste of dumplings varies according to the ingredients.

Third is Jeon. The combination of various vegetables and meat in flour is to bake in a frying pan.

Fourth is Sikhye. Sikhye is a Korean traditional drink made with rice.

Unfortunately, today is the last day of New Year's Day.

It is Sunday in Korea time now.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Thank you for reading.

Your following and voting is a force for me. ^^
