RE: Tesla Model S @senseicat

in #life6 years ago

I started a chat a week ago and have not received a response requesting this automated message from stop appearing. All the photos and writing are 100% my own and that is why no citation links appear. I even sent a follow up chat and again, no response. Who is on this team that can help please?

Dont worry about them kitty. I dont know where did they come from and who gave them authority to be the steem police to check people. Even though its good in some cases where people are actually doing fraud. But, this little kitty @senseicat looks fine to me

Just saw your comments. Over the last week we had a major surge in hacker activity so @cheetah's replies are getting missed.

What you need to do is make a post apologizing to the steem community (not to steemcleaners or cheetah) for plagiarism earlier and then just keep posting as you are.

The steemcleaners didn't go and target you on our own or anything, community members discovered the plagiarism incidents. But it seems that your latest work is right on point and original so you'll get off that list in no time.

Looks like @senseicat was following the Steemit welcome page rules for citing work and providing the source link.

Should @senseicat be apologizing for following Steemit rules?

Why are cheetah rules different from Steemit rules?

https://steemit.com/welcome

She is now. Notice how on the welcome page it says "The community is looking for you to add your own personal touch to your articles." under Plagiarism. This is very brief but what it essentially means is that articles should have something original about them. (As a rule of thumb, the community has recently shifted towards the 50/50 goal or thereabouts).

You do bring up a good point in that the Welcome Page is unclear. I'll suggest that Steemit Inc updates it.

I think you both have done wrong. I would have to give credit to @senseicat for at least following the rules as she has understood them, and that she has changed her content for a while.

I believe if @cheetah wants an apology from @senseicat, then @cheetah owes the community an apology for 2 things.

  1. An apology for bullying Steemit members for enforcing rules not listed on Steemit.com/welcome and not coordinating with STEEM Inc to post the official rules.
  2. An apology for not providing adequate support on the #steemitabuse-appeals forum.

I can't advise @senseicat to take any sort of action here. But if I were her, I would not make an apology until @cheetah makes an apology to the Steemit community and exercises corrective actions so that these @cheetah issues are fixed.

@cheetah, If you are a stand-up service on Steemit, you would do the right thing.

@senseicat, we have your back. Don't be frustrated by the broken system.

Cheetah in the end is a community service. I'm just the person who calls Cheetah after it was requested by the community members and if warranted and in this case, there were a lot of Steemcleaners comments offering guidance when it came to plagiarism. I'm not going to go through which posts that was for as anyone can go back and find those and there is no reason to kick Senseicat when she's down and trying to recover.

Now I can't speak for Cheetah -- I don't own Cheetah and I didn't architect the original project and vision. But I can summon her and I will do that once the appeal process is completed. It's up to the user in the end if they want to go through the process. I don't have the authority to change it but I do spend a lot of hours with users to fix issues.

The Welcome page is a huge problem and so is the FAQ. The language is confusing and some parts absurd. No one updated them for a long time and at a time when Steem has a giant competitor on the horizon and needs to be at its best, its absolutely unacceptable. Yesterday after my comment here I went back and started rewriting the Welcome page. The rewrite is going to go through the process and you can check out my blog for a suggestion post. I don't know if the changes will be accepted by Steemit Inc; the issue and pull request will be done next week. If they go through then I'll put in the substantial hours on the FAQ.

Regarding the chat, I accept responsibility for that. I was away last week and users had to wait until catch up. In the end, the Steemcleaners team is short-staffed and when one of us is out it shows, particularly as we're also dealing with 700+ hacked accounts right now.

That is a very thoughtful reply. Thank you. We all know @cheetah is a bot. I didn't mean literally that @cheetah should apologize, but the responsible parties that missed some critical steps should make amends with the community.
