Fathima was a Muslim girl who, even though she failed her ordinary-level exam, had excellent English skills. She had a difficult time finding office work in the public or private sectors because she failed the exam. Her family consists of six younger siblings. Her father had moved out of the house to live with another family after abandoning her mother. As a result, the mother had to care for all of the children alone. Her mother handled cooking and cleaning for several homes to find an income. As the family's eldest, Fathima was responsible for her younger siblings and sisters. She failed her schooling because she had to focus on it due to the requirements of caring for her siblings.

Considering her family issues, she finally opted to start working as a ‘machine operator’ in a garment factory. The workplace was 25 kilometers away from her home, making daily attendance difficult; therefore, she decided to live in a room closer to the factory.

She was quite lovely. While she was working in that plant, a new boy named Sanjeewa joined this place as a line leader. When they worked together, she sensed that the boy was really interested in her, but she never pretended to understand it. He was now her immediate boss. When they worked together, she sensed that the boy was really interested in her, but she never pretended to understand it. Anyway, after a month of employment, the young man discovered that Fathima spoke English well. So, he decided to give her a promotion to line leader. When he reported this to his immediate boss, he promoted her to line leader. Now, both worked well as line leaders, and when Fathima encountered any professional difficulties, the youngster assisted her in resolving them because he was a qualified person.

Fathima was overjoyed since her promotion allowed her to increase her salary and transfer a large portion of it to her mother. With time, both of them become very friendly, and they share everything, good and bad, with each other. Fathima studied further and sat for the OL exam, which he passed thanks to Sanjeewa's advice. The youngster knew all about Fathima and her family, and he was deeply saddened by her situation. He intended to marry her, but his parents rejected the marriage because Fathima was Muslim. However, the boy didn't give up his consent and tried his best to change their parents' attitudes.

Finally, the boy won and married Fathima. Later, both of them became managers of that factory, and Fathima's entire family lived together with this couple.
