Carnival and Musical Show

My dear friends, it was last Sunday we attended a Carnival and Musical Show which was organized by the Mayor of the Gampaha Municipal Council. It was held at the ground of the Gampaha, Yakkala Chandrajoythi Vidyalaya. Carnival is a special event or time set aside for the public's enjoyment and entertainment.

Carnival

Our family attended the festival together with my sister's family. There were a lot of events available for both kids as well as for adults. Our mental stress has been much reduced because of this carnival. After the corona pandemic, this was the first time we were able to attend this kind of celebration. All ages of children enjoyed the castle bouncers, pedal boats, up-and-down seesaws, and other activities. We adults could enjoy a variety of games and activities such as Roller Coast, Jet Ride, Swan Ride, Merry-go-round, Maraka Linda, 12D Movie, Kathuru Onchilla, and so on. During this time, we could enjoy a variety of foods and drinks. If you want to go to a carnival, don't forget to bring a large purse, because we have to spend a lot of money on every event. My sister and I only enjoyed the 12D movie, merry-go-round, swan ride, and jet ride. The roller coaster, Marka Linda, and Katuuru Onchila made us afraid to have fun. But our sons and their spouses enjoyed all those activities. The 12D theater uses VR glasses to display 360 movies. It is connected to sports seats to bring us a completely different and real experience. This was my first experience with 12D technology. I had a great time with it. After enjoying all these activities, we moved to the musical show area.

Musical Show

The Band that day was Flashback, led by Mr. Rohan Fernando. Flashback is a Sri Lankan Pop Band that started in the early 1990s and has become one of the most sought-after bands in every concert, function, and festival. They participate in both local and overseas musical shows and seem to be getting better each day. They are named Sri Lanka’s most popular Live Music Band, and also won the Slim Nielsen People’s Award of the year 2013, for their contribution to the music field. The entrance charge had been raised by an additional 100 rupees that day since the Flashback Band was performing in a musical show.

We enjoyed the Flashback for about two and a half hours before leaving for home to prepare for the next day's activities.
