I've been sitting on this crucial bit of information for a few days. I wanted to dive into the research before presenting this post. This information will change your life for the better. I've heard of several "natural" ways to lose weight and inches, but none of them showed significant results that are proven by scientific studies. I don't need science to back up every natural remedy, but when it comes to weight loss, I choose to heed medical results.

For one, I don't understand why this information isn't posted all over the internet and given to every physician. I'll let you decide why the following information isn't promoted instead of prescription weight loss drugs. As you will discover, this natural plant does so much more than notably improve weight loss results.

What is it?: What's this secret I speak of? Cumin. Yes, you heard right. The spice is the second most popular in the world, black pepper being first. Cumin can be found all over the world, and it is frequently used in Mexican, African, Asian, and Indian cuisines. The spice is best described as having an earthy, woody taste, with a bit of spiciness. If you are familiar with the scent of taco seasoning, then you know the smell of cumin.

What does it do?: Cumin is indeed a wonder. It is a bactericidal, carminative (relieves gas), digestive, diuretic, lactation aid, and contains many antiseptic properties. Cumin can also soothe a stomach ache when taken with hot water. The spice is highly recommended for people with stomach issues, especially individuals experiencing Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It regulates the digestive system as well as clearing infections and inflammation in the digestive and excretory systems.

Cumin has also been linked to a reduction in hypoglycemia and glucosuria. This means that individuals with diabetes could significantly benefit from implementing the spice into their diet. It's important to remember that cumin also an expectorant and can speed up healing in people with asthma and bronchitis. Cumin is also an active treatment for anemia as it is incredibly high in iron. An increase of hemoglobin allows for proper blood flow throughout the body. Good circulation means optimum brain function.

If you're feeling stressed, you should also reach for cumin. According to a 2011 medical study, doses of 100, 200, and 300 mg/kg body weight 1 hour before a stressful event protected the mind and reduced the stress response.

How does it affect weight and cholesterol?: Cumin contains a significant amount of phytosterols, which are plant chemicals that prevent the absorption of cholesterol by the body. Scientist have speculated that cumin consumption can also increase metabolism for short periods of time after ingestion.

With this miracle spice inhibiting the absorption of cholesterol, you can expect a significant decrease in weight (in fact, 3x as much), cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL (bad cholesterol). The spice also increases HDL (good cholesterol).

According to a study conducted in 2014, "88 overweight/obese women were randomly assigned into two groups. The experimental group was asked to have 3 g/d cumin powder with yogurt at two meals for three months. The same amount of yogurt minus cumin powder was prescribed for the control group. All patients received nutrition counseling for weight loss in a similar manner."

The results found that "cumin powder reduced serum levels of fasting cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL and increased HDL. Weight, BMI, waist circumference, fat mass and its percentage significantly reduced".

Can we just take a moment to analyze the results? Scientific results proved that cumin significantly reduced weight, waist circumference, and fat mass! You need to run to the store to buy some organic cumin or get some high-quality organic cumin oil. There are many better-tasting ways to eat cumin than adding it to yogurt.

Personally, I enjoy hummus and will be adding it to my hummus. As I mentioned earlier, cumin is the second most popular spice in the world so you won't have to struggle to find some good recipes that feature the spice. Frankly, I don't care if I have to ingest it in powder form. I wish I had known this years ago! Don't sit around, get some cumin and improve your health!
