My Entry for "What today, Dec. 1 #ccc mean to me___ by @freedshift" AND "Looking Back/Look Forward#2.25 by @wakeupkitty
Today, Dec. 1, 2019, is supposed to be my eldest son's 38th birthday. After our morning service, I went to the patio together with my two grandsons to offer our prayers for their departed mom and dad. They were the living image of my two departed siblings. At least, they've left me a living memory of them both so to speak, just to console a bit of my loneliness.
After our visit, we went to the resto to have our luncheon. Each have different menus. They chose grilled chicken and buttered chicken each. I have chosen 1 serve of Chopsuey and 1 serve 'sisig'. It was one of my son's specialty in cooking. He once had a little resto in front of our house.
While eating and picking a spoonful of sisig, the two boys just watched me in silence. They knew I was reminiscing the past.
Looking back, who would expect that my son would die right there and then when he was such a strong and sturdy man and fearless in many ways? He became our eldest when his elder sister died and became the "father figure" in the family when their dad died. But then he followed five months after due to the same cause. It was cardiac arrest. It runs in their father's side. Such a wasted life but then who are we to question God's will?
We need to look forward to face the Morrow.
After all the pains and heartaches, we become stronger but never be the same again even if we try to.
I told my two boys and hugging the both, to strive hard for their own future because Lola (Grandma) won't be there for them all the time.

I am sorry to hear about your lost.
It is good we do not know the future. So many happen within a lifetime. It is at a very young age your son died. I hope the grandchildren and you are in good health and enjoy each other.

Thank you for the empathy. Yes, he died at 32. I know he's now in the bosom of our gracious Almighty Father.
