Courier Services | 5% to SL Charity

We use courier service now than any time other. It is true that these services are a true help to many people in the world. As a country Sri Lanka was not used to these services earlier but after the corona pandemic, many people got used to it. It was a great help to have safe shopping while staying at home.

People use these services in various ways. Some use them for business purposes while others use them for personal matters. Here normally they charge 300LKR for the first kilogram and with the addition of more weight, they charge 75LKR for each additional kilogram.

We use these services to send our products to our customers usually. Most of the time, orders are coming from outside the city, therefore, we have to send them. The service we are using is actually good and they deliver most of the parcel on the next day. But yesterday, we had to hear an unpleasant incident from one of its branches.

A friend of mine had her birthday yesterday. Another friend asked me to prepare a gift for her. I made them days before the birthday. As there was a holiday on the 18th I was thinking about the posting day. If I posted it on Wednesday, it must be delivered on Friday. One day before the birthday. It is not that much good.

If I posted it on Friday, most probably they deliver it on Saturday. I took the decision with past experiences. This is not the first time I sent something to that location. After discussing with the one who placed the order we agreed to send it to courier service on Friday. I added my gift to the parcel as it goes to the same location.

As discussed, I sent the parcel on Friday. The courier service had given the call to our birthday girl on her birthday. When she went to take the parcel, that guy has said that he has forgotten the parcel. He has promised to bring it again in the evening and never came to the telephone after that.

We were very upset and worried as we sent it for her birthday. It is okay if it was not delivered at all. But not bringing the parcel! Then I tried to find the number and accidentally went to the location on the map and read some reviews by other people. What I found was, "this is not the first time". They have done that before. Forgetting the parcel and not answering the phones.

I had to deal with another incident sometime back with another branch. They have sent the parcel to a branch that was some far from the nearest branch. And when finally that parcel delivering, the cover had been totally damaged and tore apart. And it was after several days. I am sure that you all have these kinds of experience with courier services.

I think no matter what you do, you need to be polite with customers. Otherwise, it adds a black mark on the total reputation of the company which has been built with the time and effort of other good workers there.

order according to the weight of the gift, if one of the gifts has a very heavy weight, you have to pay more. it's a little confusing, I haven't tried with it yet.

actually that wasn't an order that I placed. I sent a parcel to one of my friend for her bithday.

Courier sevice is many helpfully.Especially corona pandemic time they did sevice very well.

Yeah I too respect their great work. Some people working there damaging the whole reputation of the organization 😕

I have no idea how to curier a parcel. But this post is very important I had a slight idea how it is happening. It is very bad doing mistakes and not answering the phone

that guy had even asked for delivery charges again. If I had not informed my friend that I settled the payment, she would have pain again.

Sometime I had experienced delayed delivery, but overall they are doing great with goods' care.

need to wrap or pack parcels. I have seen them throw parcels with fragile signs too.
