I started this surreal artwork with the message in my mind that negative thoughts can drag you down into darkness. Instead of growing and picking yourself up and fight demons it's easy to let yourself drown into misery.
I started to draw hands pulling down the head/face and came to the idea of turning one into a small growing tree. The hands at the top are positive thoughts that wanted to help out.
Made with wacom and photoshop. Took me a few days.

Wonderful and a great message as well. Don't you love a good wacom! Although I've still never learned to draw with photoshop, but I bet it has some amazing tools.
Thank you very much! Yes I love the Wacom Cintiq I have it still feels like drawing the traditional way with extra possibilities. It does I bought a plugin to get smoother lines as it's a bit more difficult in PS than using vectors. But that's about it I use default brush and start drawing :)

You always make such thoughtful pieces, Sander :) Though flimsy the tendrils that came from the top seems determined and willing to pull up the saplings of hope that grows from the bottom :) Wonderful picture, love the colour scheme and the composition.... and the message, very much <3
