SBD Nearing $1

The price of Steem has recently dropped to new 2018 lows. Despite the sadness of $1,26 Steem, there is one feature that may be starting to work as intended, As of the time this post was published, SBD is worth $1.03. The intended price, of course, is $1.

We are currently in a margin of error that I am comfortable saying that SBD is worth "essentially what it should be". If SBD fluctuates between $0.97 and $1.03, I think it would fill its role as a stable currency for the Steem platform.

However, this near-dollar SBD value may be tied to the dropping price of Steem. What I would like to see is a SBD remaining stable at $1 while the value of Steem begins to climb. Also, if Steem falls any lower I would like to see SBD hold at $1. As of now, the witnesses haven't really increased the APR above 0%. I will be addressing these issues in future posts depending on the future movements of the price of Steem.
