Focusing on history
How about friends of steemit, some time ago I had the pleasure of being part of the first photographic meeting "focusing on history", in which we visited historical sites that form an important part of the history of what is today the capital of the state of Anzoátgui.
At the beginning of the meeting we divided into several groups, which traveled different routes, the idea was, apart from learning about the history of the capital, we had to capture and send our best photos at the end of the event, the mail that was given to us, and then choose the best and show them to the public, in a photo exhibition, which would take place days later, at the Ateneo Miguel Otero Silva, in Barcelona.
All the more reason why I encouraged myself to participate and I must say that I managed to be among those chosen in the exhibition, at the end of it, we were given a certificate to each exponent.
Today I share with you the photo of one of the places that I liked the most, although this was not the photo that I exhibited, that doesn't take away its charm, in it you can see the cathedral of Barcelona, which was commented to us during the meeting part of its history, this cathedral began to be built in the middle of 1748, and it was officially inaugurated to the public in 1773, by the Spanish colonizers.
It is said that since 1777, here lie the remains of San Celestino, who to date is the only saint in Venezuela full body, but in addition to that, the church still has more curiosities, since it is the first consecrated cathedral of America, for which it was granted the reliquaries of 7 saints.
- San Severino
- Saint Eustachius
- San Facundo
- Saint Peter Alcantara
- South Pacific
- San Anastasio
- San Pascual Bailiff
I couldn't collect any more information (photos), because at the time we passed through the church, it was in the middle of mass, so we couldn't take pictures of the inside, which was something I really wanted to do, I hope to be able to participate again in these meetings, and thus be able to portray the inside of the cathedral.
Without a doubt the years do not pass in vain, this meeting made me see how blind I am and how little I know my own state, the story was something that used to bore me in class, although good being inside a classroom that happens to anyone, there are many things that do not mention the books, I heard so many stories and curious data that day that left me surprised, have you ever thought about how many times you go through the same place daily without
Perhaps you are surprised at how much you can learn, only when we know where we come from can we see where we are going, we are a long chain of successive events, or is it that the one who invented the bulb should not thank the one who invented the means to generate electricity? You see that we can't look ahead, without thinking about what led us to who we are....
