I will review my best traveling experience and As a hike I will always remember. there is a special sensation when I climb this mountain. The most noticeable difference is the weather which tends to be more humid and the atmosphere of meeting new people and being able to share experiences.

Me and some friends climbed one of the mountains which is located close to the capital city of Jakarta. The destination is Mount Gede which is in the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park area, with an area of ​​24,270.80 hectares, which includes Cianjur, Sukabumi and Bogor Regencies. This mountain has 3 official paths, namely via Mount Putri, Cibodas, and Salabintana.

At that time, we consisted of 8 people consisting of 1 woman and 7 men decided to climb via the Mount Cibodas route. Some of us have climbed this mountain many times and it was my first time traveling to this mountain.

On a sunny morning, we started our journey up Mount Gede. Around 2 pm we arrived at the Gede Pangrango National Park Gate post, and did the climbing registration. After resting and praying, we started the journey post by post with a distance of approximately 7 hours, where we had to pass as many as 5 posts before reaching the top, and almost every track is an uphill path and can be counted flat roads (bonus).

Even though this mountain path is a heavy track, it doesn't make this route deserted for climbers, because at post 5 this route we will be amazed by the charm of the paradise of Mount Gede, namely "Surya Kencana Square". Where all tiredness, fatigue disappears instantly with the view of Surya Kencana Square which stretches as far as the eye can see.

Surya Kencana Square is a very large area and there flows a small river from the top of Mount Gede, in this wide expanse of area is also overgrown with Immortal Flowers, which should not be picked, and green grass as far as the eye can see. This is where climbers usually set up tents and spend the night, for the next day to climb to the top.

Even though it's still very cold inside the tent, here is the importance of equipping climbing equipment such as a sleeping bag to stay awake at night, as well as a thick jacket that can withstand wind and cold air to keep the body warm. As well as other security equipment.

It didn't take long for us to prepare to climb to the top by eating first and also a small stretch so that the muscles wouldn't be shocked on the way to the top, after we finished eating we rushed to tidy up, then started the journey. Why did we tidy up the tent because our initial plan was to go down via a different route, namely the Cibodas route.

Travel time from Surya Kencana Square - Puncak Gede is only about 30 minutes. Arriving at the top, the fog was quite thick covering most of the peak area, so we couldn't stay up there for long. After enjoying the scenery and taking pictures there, we decided to go down from the top. But because of the thick fog, our visibility was impaired, and we were very careful to cross the track when descending.

That's all I have to say about my best travel experience. Namely climbing Mount Gede, West Java. Hopefully useful to all readers.
