The Learning Processes

in #life7 years ago

Everyday we live, we are faced with various opportunities, but as long as you learn something new from them, then the opportunities are actually gainful. Lessons are learnt everyday, and we also learn to learn by learning. The learning process begins as soon as a child begins to learn, and stops at death. So by inference, you live by learning, and you start dying when you quit learning.

But it is only someone that is wise that would know that you can learn from everyone and from every situation. There is no segregation in the acquisition of knowledge, and no one can boast of knowing every single thing on earth - that is why you need to seek for more knowledge. But in doing that, you need to look at the "message" and look beyond the "messenger". Because, the container is not as important as the content, and gold can also be hidden and embedded in some seemingly earthen vessels.

No one is completely useless; no matter how they appear to be - there is something you can learn from them. A friend of mine once told a story of how he was facing a challenging task at work, and all attempts to resolve it seemed futile. Even when he took the work home, he could still not resolve it over the long weekend, and this did cost him his sleep.

By Sunday night, he was feeling really disturbed because he would not have what to say to his boss on Monday; but something remarkable happened. His little niece that stays with him ran to him and said "uncle, why is your face like this?". He responded with the worse sarcasm "hey kid, I'm carrying the weight of the entire universe on my shoulders". She asked him what the matter was, and he replied again "you can't help me, kid".

After the niece had bugged him for a while, he just showed her the stuff just to maintain his peace. Behold! It was a similar thing to what she saw in Disney Junior (but in animated format), and she told him how to resolve it, and boom!!, the insight dawned on him. How amazing, it was a little girl of about 9years that saved his arse.

Learning is without recourse to age, and anyone can pass on knowledge to you. Just try not to be shy to acquire knowledge. After all, there is no point in being shy for what would be beneficial to you.
