BANDWITH LIMIT EXCEEDED!!!!! WTF

I am learning about Steemit as I go. I have not purchased any crypto currencies yet as I am not sold on using Gemini or any other platforms. Well, today, I wanted to give it a try, because my account was locked out, so I thought I would purchase some. 2 issues came up.

  1. Transfer would take 4-5 business day! (Wtf) My wire from Bank of America takes 1 day (seriously)
  2. No one specifies how much the wire fee will be, so if I just want to buy $50 worth, but the wire will cost $50, it will not make sense.

There should be something created in the future where @Steemit, @Dan have a one stop shop to handle all currency w/d and deposits. For a laymen like myself, this is way too many hoops to jump through. It's not that I don't want to invest in Steemit, but having a general platform, or for @steemit founders to start creating videos, would be encouraged, if you all want to take this mainstream.

So for the sake of this argument, I felt really discouraged from continuing as now I have to worry about exceeding a limit on my posts and blogs. I get the spam part, but come on, not everyone that joins, has bitcoins or Ether lying around. Think big, If you want to become big. Not every one that will join from the outside world will be a crypto-geek.

What @Steemit @Ned @Dan should do, is meet with folks like me with no background in blockchain, and figure out how to simplify this mess. I am willing to invest money into this platform, but it has to be simplified.

Use the Zappos analogy, they want to talk to people. They don't want to not respond or not want to talk to people like most companies. (Customer service) will take any of these cryptocurrencies to the next level, not some nerd behind a computer making things up as they go and not be able to talk to them. Please excuse my frustration, but sometimes you need thinking from someone out of the equation! god bless!

This may work for you, I personally have done this with bitcoin and ethereum to steem. Check out www.blocktrades.us. You can get a bitcoin or litecoin address from the site to convert what you send them into steem sent to your account. I think the transaction fee for litecoin is much lower so that would be my pick.
To purchase the litecoin (or bitcoin ) you can use coinbase.com , iirc if you don't do KYC they put a $100 USD / week limit on but you can pay with credit card. The fee they charge for $50 would be like $2 I think, but you may want to buy a bit more to cover the crypto transfer fee.
If you don't even want to use an exchange google a local bitcoinATM machines and use that to purchase the crypto to send to blocktrades directly. The price (premium plus fee rolled in) would be higher than coinbase but you don't need to open an account.
Oh and both way should not take more than an hour to complete the transaction.

Thanks Oldman28. I will try that in the near future and see what happens. much appreciated.

Same thing happened to me! I think it is some kind of glitch, as I've been heavily using my account, but let it recharge the last 2 days. I've watched my steem power on steemd.com, and the bandwidth was never an issue until today. I have also posted about this: https://steemit.com/steemit/@rball8970/low-bandwidth-cannot-comment-or-vote
Also it seems that steemd.com is now down: https://steemit.com/steem/@rball8970/steemd-com-down

thanks for the feedback. my other areas of concern I hope they address. too much going back and forth from one to the other. Not having control of w/d or deposits because a company you don't own or work for is down, is not the best setup. (bittrex)

Absolutely. I hope we can change that issue for sure. It would sure be nice to get paid directly by this site, and not have to go through a third party.

agreed on that
