If you dont like where you are, move! You are not a tree.

I can still remember what my 4th grade teacher told me "Apple go out, you're not fit for dancing."

As a kid I always took part in any dancing activities at school. I fell in love with the combination of enchanting music and graceful movements. I am mesmerized with cultural dance and modern dance performances. I felt like I was born to be a dancer. So if there are programs I would make sure that my name would be part of the lists of participants.

When I was in 4th grade, we were told to join the upcoming Hula dance performance and that everyone is encouraged to participate.I always loved the song "Pearly Shells" and I imagined myself wearing a cute top,a grass skirt and colorful flowers wrapped around my head. I was thrilled! I even told my mom to buy me all the things I needed for the dance. I am always present during the practice and I exerted a lot of effort on it.

But 3 days before the big day, my teacher told me that I was cut out from dancing and that I lack natural rhythm. Even if I was a kid at that time I never knew that words could cut like a knife. It turned my world upside down and I promised to myself that I will never ever dance again.

My teacher who I believed would motivate and inspire me to develop what I thought was talent dragged me down from having the chance to develop the skill that I admired the most.

She locked me inside my comfort zone and up until now I couldn't find my way out.

I am now a proud teacher in junior high school. As a teacher I have a lot of academic responsibilities to my students same as moral obligations. I always choose my words when dealing with young people because I know that I could greatly influence them in many ways.

I dont want to do the same mistake that my 4th grade teacher did to me and that's suppressing my supposed to be potentials.

So same with all other young kids who dreamed the impossible and aspired to be better. Discouragement forced me to be this way. I am uncomfortable if forced to dance again and I lost that passion in me. Up until now, I am stranded in my comfortable space.

Wih this in mind, I decided to write something about unchaining your abilities for a better you and moving out from your confort zone. I will explain to you on why you are so attached to it and why you should let go and move out.

Comfort Zone

This is like your own personal place. You are overwhelmed with mental security and emotional stability that you hide from it mostly all the time. You also tend to believe that the things that you do and your daily routines in your zone help you in minimizing stress and the possibility of jeopardy.

Imagine yourself in a paradise. The expected feelings that would be evident in you would be those of refuge, conviction and immunity. You are contented of where you are because you are not taking risks and you wont put yourself in peril.

But actually our comfort zone is not necessarily a bad thing because it has its positive and negative traits. Positive because it offers security,Negative because it creates mediocrity.

Leaving your natural zone maybe difficult because it could impose threats on your stress levels and could pile up your anxiety attacks but in doing so it could give you a chance to unleash your talents and skills that you never thought you had.

As early as now and to not repeat what happened to me in the past. It is wise to pack up your bags and bid goodbye to your comfort zone.

Moving out means welcoming doors to positive growth

You are now open to taking risks and new challenges. This action would lead to a more productive you. Deadlines and work related issues could drain us psychologically but acknowledging it and diverting our stress to worthwhile activities like submitting yourself to finish it on time would yield constructive results. Trying something new and being adventurous would also be healthy for you.

It would help you pour out your boxed up abilities and strengths

You are afraid that people might judge you if you sing your heart out. You are conscious that people will criticize your works of art or rejects your creative ideas in writing. As what they say: "Been there done that". For a bird to soar up high in the sky,it should learn how to fly first. It's the same with all of us. No one became good at things at just one snap of their fingers. It's a long process and it might hurt you along the way. But containing your potentials on a sealed room wouldn't help you grow & believe me it never will.

You are more accustomed to changes

Change is permanent. Even if we dont want things to change it will naturally occur. Moving out from our comfort zone would mean that you are open to changes in your life. So if changes are more normal to you it would help you step out from your personal boundaries and would push you to achieve your desires in life.

Unleashing your potentials is just one of the benefits you will get after leaving out from your convenient territory. It would be very difficult to do since you will be facing a lot of challenges along the way. But always remember that you are capable of doing so many amazing things, you just need to free yourself from doubts and hopelessness. You and the people important to you will support you all the way and will always got your back.

Dont be afraid to step out and to embrace new experiences in life but in doing this you also have to put in mind that you will always be responsible of your actions.

Do one thing everyday that scares you. In this way you are slowly coming out of your shell and you're finally revealing yourself to the world and on how great you are and how incredible you can be.

Thanks for staying with me in our journey to self-exploration.

Love & Light,

gibasa nmo maam marvs? salamat maam

Yes ma'am mka.relate ko ani ba. Kay sauna hinayaw pud ko. Then pag grade 5 kay didto pud ni ok2 akong self confidence. I'm still in a shell. I'm bursting like I want to be out, see the world, push myself to my limits, to my full potential. I want to change my ways. The routine is so boring. Like I could die and it is shameful that I never listened, still not listening to my inner self. I wish I have courage and belief in myself that I'll be just fine even when this life needs changing. I wouldn't want to lie in my deathbed regretting the things I never tried, I never dared. Thanks much ma'am @sakura1012 <3 I'm with you.

I always admired your kindness maam marvs. And as what I always say to you God will reward you soon with the desires of your heart. Just be patient maam I know that all your wishes will come true. Do not settle for anything less and go see the world! @rosevillariasa
