The Punjabi cultural heritage is one of the oldest cultures in world history dating from prehistoric times to modern times. The history, scope, density and complexity of this culture are vast, and some of the important areas of Punjabi culture are philosophy, Punjabi cuisine, religion, poetry, literature, music, customs, architecture, history and values.
Some cities in Punjab province are more important to the Sikh community in India. The Nankana Sahib district in Punjab is the birthplace of the founder of the Sikh religion, so Sikhs visit this place from all over the world. Jahangir's Tomb and Badshahi Mosque in Lahore are the most important attractions in Pakistan.

Historically, the Punjab region was part of the 'Sindu Sapta', a word meaning Seven Rivers, but over time South Sindh became a small province, and Punjab province became a larger and developed region of the region. The Mughals proposed the term Punjab in the 17th century AD.
It is a mixture of the Persian terms 'panj-lima' and 'aab-water and thus the land of the 'Five Rivers'. The rivers that flow through the Punjab province are branches of the Indus River, namely the Jhelum, Sutlej, Chenab, Sindhu and Ravi rivers.

The complete cuisine of Punjab can be non-vegetarian and vegetarian. The use of unspiced butter and refined ghee is common in all Punjabi recipes, and Punjabis also love sweet meat dishes. Most Punjabi food is eaten with bread or rice.
Some of the recipes that are unique to the Punjab province are Paratha, Mah Di Dal, Sarron Da Saag, Makai ke rotti, and in urban areas Cholay, Biryani, Haleem and some other popular spicy recipes. Tea is served in beverages during all weathers and as a tradition, most Punjabis serve tea to guests.

FESTIVAL
There are various festivals celebrated by the Panjab community including some religious events like Laila-Tul-Qadar Eid-ul-Fitr-Milaad-Un-Nabbi. The Basant Festival is celebrated in spring. Other festivals enjoyed in the Punjab province include Kamak katae, Teej, Baisakhi, etc.

BIRTH AND FUNERAL RITUALS
- Punjabi welcomes new born baby happily. Grandmother or grandfather or parents put honey with their index finger into the mouth of a boy named Ghutii. Sweets are sent to relatives and friends, and they bring gifts to mother and daughter. Usually on the seventh day, the child's head is shaved and the Aqiqah ritual is carried out. Goats and sheep are also slaughtered.
At funerals after funeral speeches, it is customary to give lunch to people who come here seeking comfort. Qul is held on the 3rd after death, and next Thursday the Koran is recited, accompanied by prayers for the dead, and after forty days Chaliswan is held. Some families celebrate the anniversary of the death every year.
