Stemit Engagement Challenge S4-W4 | Review of my City Development
Hello everyone,
The Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 4 weeek 4 is here and this is my entry for the theme of this week's contest from this community "Review of my City Development" by @steempreneurship
Designed using Pixellab App When the new Government took over the cloak of leadership on February 14, 2020, the governor of Bayelsa State, made it Crystal clear to listening ears that the security and unity of the State would be top on his development program.
Understanding the strong relationship between security and development and uniting the people for the task of willful development.
So far, he has built a reputation for himself as the prosperity governor by embarking on several developmental projects in the space of two years ranging from different sectors of the city.
The governor took the first step by inaugurating a committee to bring safety to the state capital, the city I Yenagoa.
He followed up this development by revitalizing the security structure by merging the two existing security outfits in Operation Doo-Akpo and the Bayelsa Volunteers into one operation via the recent signing of the Community Safety Corps Bill into law.

The government launched the reconstruction of the state Federal High Court building project and also the destruction of illicit and makeshift structures, which were used by criminals as hideouts and social nuisance.

The ever popular Tombia-Edepie roundabout which was a shelter for criminals masterminds, Today wears a new look, as it is fast revamping the State into a visitor's delight and indeed one of the benign states in the country.
With this newfound security, came a lot of businesses thus improving the financial and economic development of the City.
The present government of Bayelsa recognises the critical role of health care in societal development and one can see from the strides taken by the administration that it is laser-focused on maximizing the health sector of the state.
The introduction of the Bayelsa State Health Insurance scheme is a welcome development for anyone to register his family so they can access any health centre of their choice and get treated for no/less cost depending on the severity of the case.

The government also took it upon itself to build a centre for the Bayelsa State Health Insurance Scheme known as the Health Insurance House, which is also a very welcomed development.
With the support of the Government, the Ministry of Health was encouraged to run free health tests and treatments for sicknesses such as Hepatitis B screening, Tuberculosis checks etc on citizens who were willing to come for them at various locations.
The transportation sector hasn't been left out of the new developmental works as the continued work and construction of the new glory drive from the gateway to the government house is ongoing.
Moreover, this government has brought to completion the International Cargo Airport, a project started by his immediate government.

It is admirable to mention, that the government began what is known as “Operation no pothole” by restoring internal roads everywhere in the Yenagoa metropolis, which was a State of worry to road users. In addition to that, the State Executive Council (SEC) has just approved the contract for the construction of twenty more internal roads in the state capital Yenagoa.
The present government has displayed sterling leadership qualities, particularly in the area of completion of projects and even in sports as both the State teams in Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queen are flying high as they won both the Men and Women Aiteo FA Cup in their first year of office.

Bayelsans has been on the sports news recently, for good reason as the only Silver medalist on the Nigerian Olympic team in the person of Blessing Oborodudu is from Bayelsa, then there are the Saint Judges Girls College girls dominating female college basketball.
Currently, Bayelsa Queens are representing Nigeria in the forthcoming African Women Champions League, while the male team just gained promotion to the first division for the first time in 13 years.
Then, there is the construction of a Golf complex which already accommodates an 18-hole golf course field and a 3-Star hotel.
Clearly, the administration in Bayelsa state understands this stance of development in a society and is doing all it can to better every sector, making sure none is missing out. Therefore, Putting broad smiles across the faces of citizens as the thought of what the future holds for Bayelsans crosses their minds. Certainly, the future is remarkable for the state popularly tagged “the glory of all lands”.

The new governor of Bayelsa has really done a great job since he took over power and am really impressed at his works so far. What I so much appreciate him for is the construction of various roads in the Yenagoa metropolis. Thanks for sharing my friend, and goodluck in this contest.
