Hover Bike, coming up!!
The photo above is of Colin Furze who built a home made hover bike in April 2016. He built the bike in his garage. The bike has no seat, it has 2 engines, two accelerators, no brakes. It basically controls movement by shifting body weight. The amazing thing is that this bike actually flies and works. Colin has no engineering qualifications, but made this bike work, this is amazing. The video below shows the bike in action.
You will notice it is a bit difficult to control. If you compare his invention with the others, I show in the post, it is actually a great achievement.
Look at the safety gear of the guy below, which was not needed for the home made one. The one below has open propellers, ouch!! Don't slip or come near pedestrians!! This one is called the Scorpion-3, it must be due to the sting in it's tail, if you too come close to the propellers.

Below is a video of the Scorpion-3 in action. It has complicated electronics that control altitude, speed & stability etc.
Below is the Aero-X, which is supposed to go on sale this year at a price of about $85000!! A toy for only the rich. It should reach a speed of 72 km/h at a hover height of approximately 3.7 m. How nice would it be to ride straight over other traffic, just watch out for those pesky bridges.

The photo above shows the Aero-X concept sport utility vehicle. It should be able to carry 140 kg, and run for an hour and 15 minutes on a full tank of fuel. The idea is that the control will be similar to a motorcycle. The on-board computer will throttle back to control the height, this will also eliminate the need of a pilot licence, which is only needed when flying higher than 3.7 m.
It really looks nice, but will be more of a toy than a real life commuter vehicle.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it.

I will wait for the boxing day sales... :)
Hi @lemouth, I think even with the boxing day sale it will be to expensive for me, but one can dream!!
Actually for me too ;)
Too big a footprint in this one one. Like the previous one better though this has seat and will be better for longer distances.
Hi @ace108, I agree with you the hoverboards look better.
We are two great minds then. :-)
Must be!!
awesome post :)
Thank you @riaansteynberg for reading and commenting.
no problem
Excellent post dear friend @rynow congratulations on the find
This would be ideal for my people. Thank you very much for sharing
Thank you @jlufer
Awesome post. Prefer number 2 as it least has a seat
Hi @ ianstrat, I suppose they all have their pros and cons, and depend on what you would like to do with the machine.
I think it is awesome that somebody could make a machine like this in his garage. If you google you will see that there is a Chinese machine with 8 petrol engines which just manages to lift of the ground.(It also looks homemade) I think the 8 engines make it difficult to control. (Electric motors might have worked better.)
Thanks for your comment.
