Sandhill Crane Family
Sandhill Crane Family
This was the first day that this sandhill crane couple brought there 2 baby chick away from the nest. The chicks will grow fast, but stay with their parents until full grown. I took this photo at Crystal Lake RV Park in Mims, Florida.

Great capture! Those are some really cool birds, and seeing the baby chicks is especially cool.
Thank you for you comments!
Hey Roger, this photo is beautiful!! I have never seen the chicks before...geez they're cute:) What a great photo! And thank you for including the "Enlarge Photo" tutorial...I knew there had to be a way to do it, but I didn't know how!! Cheers:)
Thanks for your comments, Lynn! The chicks were cute! Unfortunately, one didn't make it past a few days. Something in the lake got it. We weren't sure if it was a gator or a bass. nature can be cruel at times. Everyone at the campground was bummed. The other little made it okay and grew to be pretty big by the time we left Florida.
aww I know it's to be expected in nature, but I think you're like me and get attached to animals pretty easy. That's sad, but I'm so glad you got to watch the other one grow:)
