🌍 Steemit World Map Challenge #25 🌍 Big Anouncements! + Need Your Help/Feedback :)
Greetings travelers!
Welcome to the 25th week of the #swmchallenge where we travel around the globe and try to bring up to light the most unique and special places or events worth visiting or putting on your travel bucket list. Each week here is filled with posts full of captivating scenery, stunning images and great stories. Basically, great travel blogs worth checking out. So If you like to travel (digitally or in real life) #swmchallenge is the place to go.
For those who still don't know about SteemitWorldMap
It's a fun tool made by @blueorgy and @martibis that allows you to pin your posts to a specific location or browse the world map where ideally every place on the map is a Steemit post. #swmchallenge is my attempt to make it more popular and build a community around it.
GROWTH PLAN
First of all let me thank you all and say how much I appreciate your continuous support of the contest. Without you, the community, this contest wouldn't be around, so for that and the quality of blogs you put out I want to say thank you one more time and let you know how much you mean to me/the contest.
I was thinking about how to grow our little travel community on Steemit and further. Reach audiences out of the Steemit space and bring them to the contest/your blogs.
A couple of ideas came to my mind and they are as follows:
- Create a dedicated Instagram account
- Steemit/discord outreach
- Make a dedicated wordpress website and start posting contests there using steempress
- Banners
- Possibility of a SP delegation? / Automated voting/commenting
Moving to other social media platforms is an obvious next step to extend our reach on the web. On there I would post best images of our winners/honorable mentions articles accompanied by a short explainer it would include a link to the full article about it.
NOTE: if you do not want to have your images posted on the Instagram page, let me know and I'll remove them.
Expected outcome:
Bringing new users to Steemit.com, the SWM challenge and your blogs!
Steemit/discord outreach
Find and come in contact with travel bloggers and projects on Steemit to invite them in the community and extend it's growth. If you have any friends on Steemit or know of any projects/discord groups that might be interested in joining the community and helping it grow, or just contribute their blogs to the map/contest. I would ask you to talk to them and tell them about the #swmchallenge
I'll do this on my own but would also like your help. You can do it by reaching out and talking to people, or by letting me know about projects that might want to get involved.
Expected outcome:
Growth, growth, growth!
Wordpress Website
This is the last thing I'll deal with as I really want to make it professional and can't do it with the current abount of free time I have. The website will have a sign up option where you could submit your travel experiences, reviews, blogs, videos and anything else about traveling that you can imagine. We will be build a Travel Bible together!
This idea still needs a lot of time and thinking before anything will happen, but you can expect to see it up in a month or two. I really cant promise anything because I don't know if I'll have enough free time to do it. If I find someone to do it for me though, we could have the website up and running much sooner.
NOTE: if you do not want to have your blogs/images posted on the Website, let me know and I'll remove them.
Expected outcome:
Same as for Instagram + potential support in form of upvotes from @steempress-io which will mostly go into increasing the reward pool + buying promotion for the website.
Banners
Either me or another, better designer will create custom banners for the contest and I'll contestants to share them at the end of their posts. This will not be manditory but will result in aditional upvotes from me :)
Expected outcome:
Exposure for the contest, new participants, better competition, source of income for the promoters.
Possibility of a SP delegation? / Automated voting/commenting
This is kind of a long shot but as time passes, the website, instagram and the contest becomes more popular I'll reach out to some whales asking for a SP delegation to support your efforts and launch our travel community to the moon!
If I receive a SP delegation I would turn my account into a bot voting on your contributions to the contest based on a given set of parameters.
Outcome:
More rewards for your work, incentivizing more contributions, exponential growth.

#1 Salina Turda - A Day In The Coolest Subterranean Theme Park
@adonisabril takes us on a journey to the one of a kind subterranean theme park Salina Turda in Romania. Once a salt mine dating back to the 17th century and at times even a bomb shelter (WWII), today it is transformed into a futuristic and breathtaking theme park. Definitely a place to put on the travel bucket list!

#3 Pingyao Ancient City - A place to remember for sure!
Yes! Another ancient city full of history on the map. As some of you might already know I have a strange obssesion with Chinese/Japanese culture/architecture so it's no surprise we have @rayshiuimages amongst the winners again :) It's most likely because we never get to see something like that where I live and the only way to get to see it is to travel (digitally or IRL) and you know that I can't afford to travel at this point. So reading travel blogs like the one that @rayshiuimages shared with us is one of the ways I can explore mentioned cultures/architecture, but that will hopefuly change in the future.
Definitely a suggested read!

Rewards
As of today, up until the point where STEEM is really expensive and we don't earn that much of it any more I'll hand out SBI shares as rewards. 1 share = 1 STEEM so if the price doesn't go up too fast I'll be able to keep up for at least a couple of weeks. But if the prices go too high I'll just reduce the rewards a bit or go back to the SBD rewards.
What are SBI shares?
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
Instead of giving you a one time payment of x SBD, from now on I want to reward you with daily votes from @steembasicincome that last FOREVER!
The more shares you collect from winning contests or by sponsoring someone else, the higher the upvotes you will get, daily, FOREVER.
Winners will receive
1st - 4 SBI shares
2nd - 3 SBI shares
3rd 2 SBI shares
4 Honorable mentions - 1 SBI share each
Enrollment process is done manually so you might not see the wallet message from @steembasicincome straight away, but it will come in a day or two.
