Searching For DASH With The AIRCOINS Augmented Reality App

Crypto people from around the world can often be seen walking around the street with their phones, in search of some virtual edifice. Similar to hunting virtual coins with the Geon dapp these are actually custom made locations where Aircoins and other coins can be found using the Aircoin application that is available for both Android and Apple users. In the past, the coins were basically shitcoins with next to no value, however, that all changed on 13th of June, 2019, when it was announced that Dash coins can now be found through the Aircoin Augmented Reality application via their Twitter account.

Augmented reality platforms like these are popular these days and it is no surprise considering the sheer number of people and hours we spend looking into our phone screen. From a personal point of view, it felt a lot more like a game rather than a ‘serious” cryptocurrency "mining" tool and that right there represents the selling point.

The first coin I found was some Travel token that was right inside my room. There was a short explanation about the shitcoin and where it came from and all that stuff. If you check the map, you will see so many coins spread out in your location and with the use of the navigator, you just need to find a coin that is within 80m of your phone to claim it, simply by tapping on it when it appears on your screen.

I've been using the app for a couple of days now and I haven't found any Dash yet. Not even a fraction of it. Only a buch of valueless shitcoins but the thrill of possibly one day actually finding that Dash is what's keeping me glued to the screen whenever I'm out and about.

The mythical Dash

Is an open-source cryptocurrency that facilitates transactions through high-speed transaction, flexibility and at next to no network cost. It is currently ranked 15 on coinmarketcap with a value of $153.15 at the time of writing this post and a market cap valuation of over $1b making it a valuable addition to aircoin augmented reality platform. The coin is used in over 4000 merchants worldwide and is available in over 700 ATMs and popular among exchanges, as it is listed on virtually every exchange.

How long does it take to find one Dash?

Well, your guess is as good as mine on the topic, you will have to search a fair bit to find it . Dash is one of the numerous cryptocurrencies spawned out on the map and you will have to find it in basically the same way you find any other cryptocurrency on the platform. After many miles and tens of thousands of footsteps, you may be lucky enough to actually locate some Dash, probably a fraction of it. When you do, simply transfer it to your Dash wallet instantly in a typical Dash fashion(super fast).

While finding an entire Dash will certainly be a huge undertaking for most of us, in Amsterdam, Bangkok and Medellin, you can actually find one whole Dash just laying around waiting for you.

Conclusion

That’s just about it for this project though. You have to be really careful while using it though, I bumped into a few objects but nothing serious during my quest, it could have been a lot more dangerous if it were a different area so that is something you should worry about; moving vehicles, falling object, a random guy taking a piss and some of the more dangerous situations you can find yourself bump into, so try to be careful when using the app .

The Android version requires a decent internet connection to operate though, 2mbs or higher will usually suffice but the faster, the better.
