What is a family?

This is a group of people, father, mother, children, grand parents, uncles, aunties, cousins e.t.c that are related by blood.

Name the types of marriage practice in your Country?

Church Marriage

Traditional Marriage

Describe the major difference between the types of marriage mentioned above?

Church Marriage

This is a type of marriage officiated in the church. It is done in the presence of God and it is officiated by a priest or pastor. The couple usually exchange their marital vows after which they're issued their certificate of marriage. It is practiced by all christians.

Traditional Marriage

This is a type of marriage done in the accordance of the bride and groom's customs and traditional. It is usually done in the bride's Village. The groom first of all go to the bride's Village and meet her kinsmen, her kinsmen will give out the list of things to buy to the groom. When the groom brings all the things requested by the kinsmen, a date is fixed for the traditional marriage and the bride's dowry is also paid.

Court Marriage

This is a type of marriage done in the court registry. It is usually officiated by the court register. After exchanging vows, the couples are issued their certificate of marriage.

Explain five benefits of living together in the family?

Companionship: Nobody is an island, we need each other to survive. Family provides venue for companionship, someone to talk to, laugh with and share our problems with.

Love:Apart from God no one else loves us more than our family. Friends might depart us in times of need but our family will always stick with us at all the time.

Protection: Parents and the elders in the family protect and look out for everyone in the family.

Home training: Our training begins from our various families, Family trains every individual and that is why when someone behaves badly in the society the question people usually ask is the family he or she is coming from. Family also pays school fees for their children.

Procreation: Living together in the family helps couple to give birth to children.

Is a house help a member of a family? Explain.

Yes a house help is a member of the family because he or she stays with the family and shares cordial relationship with them. Family is not only by blood relationship because they're people in our lives that we call family even though we aren't related to them by blood but because of our relationship with them
