The name of the dish I prepared this week is Jollof beans and yam. I choose to prepare this meal this week because, it's one of the most easily sourced food in my locality. The ingredients for it's preparation is usually handy at home and its one of my family favorite.

I will start with listing the ingredients I used in preparing this meal.
Ingredients
- Beans
- Palm oil
- Cray fish
- Onions
- Seasoning cubes
- Yam
- Fresh pepper
Procedure |
---|
Select the beans and remove the bad ones from the good ones
Wash the beans, then put it in a pot and parboil it.
Parboil the beans for about 10minutes.
After parboiling the beans, wash it again and put it on a sieve.
Add the beans to the pot, add water to it, then add sliced onions to it. The onions helps to soften the beans fast.
Cook the beans until it's tender.
Peel, slice and wash the yam.
Add palmoil to the beans.
Add blended crayfish and pepper to the pot.
Add seasoning cubes and salt to the pot.
Add the sliced yam to the pot. Do not stir the food so it doesn't get burnt.
When the food is tender enough, check for salt then turn off the heat.
Your delicious Jollof beans and yam is ready.
