Near miss?

Maye not so close to the rock as it looks, but the bottom is all jagged rocks too !
This spot is maybe my favorite place to shoot at because of the park i'm standing in and all the scenery, trees and plants and a million angles to line it up from. If the waves aren't good there's tons of other things to shoot as well
sweet photo, the greenery and jagged rocks really does add to the photography of surfing. It is the beautiful landscape and scenery that adds to the surfing experience.
All the spots near me are beachbreaks with jetty's - Is that groynes in Auz? - and they're mostly ugly. Anyway, this area in Laguna beach is so much more beautiful
Yes we have alot of groynes in Auz. People love too fish off them. I do not find them attractive at all.
They're crap for the most part and almost never work to stop erosion or whatever the reason was that they put them in for. Always causes another problem on one side or the other with the beach.
After that little rant i should add that my two main spots are The Wedge and South Side Seal Beach both of them have major sidewaves bouncing off that make great waves! I've seen really old shots before the harbors and rocks were put in and it is totally different waves but really good inlet sand bars! One of the first places ever surfed in California was Corona Del Mar / Newport bay entrance. The Duke surfed it back before the harbor groynes that created the Wedge and destroyed that spot
close meaning you barely didn't get that shot, nice timing and a little finger patience rewarded you nicely. 100% upvote!
