Artificial Intelligence VS Human

in #ai9 years ago (edited)

With each passing day robots are becoming part of our daily lives and activities. Some robots, powered by AI, are already doing things just like us.

For example, a robot in Japan is now holding Buddhist funeral ceremonies. In the United States, for several months already, a robot-watchkeeper has been on duty to carry out crimes. China, according to Goldman Sachs, will overtake the United States in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics in just a few years, CNBC said.

I'm really curious where this technology will lead us and I'm guessing the blockchain is also going to be a big part of it. Would you care to share your thoughts? Maybe some of you are not so optimistic. If that's so, why?

Oh man, just saw that little guy on Quartz just this past week along with these two other videos

Even more robot stuff still from just this past week or so

WILL PEOPLE PLEASE START LISTENING TO ELON MUSK MORE! lol. As much as there is crazy natural issues going, crazy politics, and everything else, robots and A.I. manages to be near daily news as well with something significant. I'm optimistic but am saddened by ignorance by the general public on this stuff.

I still don't know what to think about that whole Facebook A.I. chatbot that they shutdown. I think people get too caught up in things we have seen in sci-fi movies and crap to take what is going on as a serious thing, but then again, I guess nothing big enough has really happened..... yet. Glad there is enough nerds out there keeping an eye on where tech is progressing.

Yes, thechology is moving rapidly, we have more and more robots around us with each passing day. It really is kinda sad that the general public forms its opinion based on Hollywood films.
I think AI is the way to go in future computer development as it can really ease our lives in this planet.
And if I come across a Steemit bot that can hold a real conversation, maybe I wouldn't flag him :)

Blockchain is mainly usefull for financial records. The rest of public information will be stored with tech like distributed hash tables such as IPFS.

True AI could get out of hand but I don't think it will suddenly jump upon us like some horror stories would have us think. Many things are called AI these days but none are truly intelligent.

Bots and AI are there to do the monotonous tasks for us so we can enjoy the more interesting parts of life.

Personally I don't envision The Matrix cenario, as much as we like to think we are 'gods', I don't think robots will ever surpass us in areas where creativity and thinking outside the box is needed. But I'm very curious what the future holds.
Thanks for your comment!

Creativity? bruh, this was on Vice a month ago

God mode coming soon ;)

I'm curious about your thought that you don't think it will suddenly jump upon us. I know it's a general statement so I don't want to say I disagree because in one swoop a giant machine will choose to block the sun or something, but machines learn and do at a rate that is just so much quicker than we have the ability to do, and we are programming them that way, we want these machines to do better than us. I think that is one of the pushes of AI itself, man is tired of programming, they just want to give these things a set of rules and let them invent themselves. It is that set of rules part that is shady, because AI is already bending those in super basic ways, so I do ponder what more exquisite ways they will bend things when they are so complex we do not even realize how strict a set of rules we should be giving them, and with that, at what speed, because I can't imagine it being slow.

Can AI become self aware

I guess you would need a network of AI, just like in real life.

@vox00 Would you care to set a definition for "self aware"?
