Poisoning inspiration with diarrhea
Forcing my heart to abandon originality
Inviting convention to drain sense from me
So I can have popularity’s cache.
Whipping vision into committee decision
Clogging breathe with narrow breadth
Quenching light with the darkened plight
Of difference buried in the foul bog
Of egalitarian’s pampering clog.
Ordinary has achieved dominion over life
Only mediocre merit deserves a wife
Making vision a discard-able wench
The police dog’s daring you to spit
Why don’t you just quit?.
