Let me tell you: Knacksteem got Talent!

There are so many common people who are gifted with great talents. Where can they go to showcase their talents?

The goal of this post is to promote and give a proper review of Knacksteem in response to @oracle-d and @dapplovers post: OD Task - Review a Media DApp.

Knacksteem is one of the decentralized Media DApp listed on the State of the DApps platform. It is an open source Dapp that has come on the scene about a couple of months ago.

Presently, the ranking of Knacksteem is at #329 on the State of the DApps.

In the Media Category, it ranks at the 27th of the most used Media App with active developers' activities.

What is Knacksteem?

Knacksteem DApp, built on the Steem blockchain, provides an opportunity for talented people to showcase their passionate skills to the world and get rewarded.

Knacksteem has a unique rewards system other than the usual upvote from the @knacksteem.org account. Outstanding skills can be rewarded with liquid Steem or even fiat by the community members. The rewards given to users can also be exchanged to their local currency. This is really something to think about, isn't it?

The project owner, @knowledges, has this vision of diversification of economy via media content.

The goal is to build communities of talented people whereby users can come to a point of creating a virtual business doing things that they love. Stores can be built here. As the user's reputation gets built up, it can even lead to job creation prospects.

This is in my area of interest. As a musician, I want to meet other like-minded musicians to see if we can collaborate some online gigs together in this community.

3. How To Get Started on Knacksteem?

A. Sign up in the Knacksteem Platform

B. Log in with Steemconnect

If you do not have a steemit account, you can sign up here.

C. Create a Post

Click on the Edit pencil on the right-hand upper corner and it will take you to the posting page.

D. Write your "Story"

• Key in your Title
• Write your content in the Story section
• You can upload images
• You can upload you-tube video links

E. Preview & Post

The preview feature is quite good because you can see the final form right underneath the editor. This makes it very convenient for you to edit by scrolling upward and downward.

As you can see, the image shows up in the preview panel.

After all the editing is done, Post!

F. Voila! Post is Published!

The post will appear on the Steemit platform right away.

A Knacksteem moderator will evaluate your post in the Knacksteem platform. If it passes the quality check, your new post appears on the Knacksteem feed.

3. The Components of Knacksteem

There are nine categories of skill to showcase your talents:

• Fashion

This is not a site where you just post any mundane thing. You need to think through which category is right for you before you post.

B. Quality Control - Moderator and Guidelines

Moderators will come in to assess your effort and original work. Scoring will be given from 0 to 100. Outstanding contribution can earn to a maximum of 250 Knack tokens.

Guidelines are given to all the 9 categories for you to get maximum reward.

C. Knack Tokens

Knack token (KNT) is the official token for trading transactions on the Knacksteem platform. KNT distribution is already running and can be traded for fiat or other cryptocurrencies.

D. Knack Store

Knackstore acts like a virtual alternative to a physical store. All transactions will be made here without hassles and risks as Knacksteem will act as an escrow on all transactions.

4. What I like about Knacksteem

When Knacksteem platform launched, I love the deep blue color of the Knacksteem banner. Their graphics are professionally done. Very attractive indeed.

I like their long term vision for users. I see Knacksteem as becoming the ultimate internet platform drawing many talented people to form engaging communities. In fact, this can become a fun and entertaining place to learn other skills.

5. How Knacksteem Can Improve

As the platform is still quite new, there are bugs that need fixing.

For example, when I uploaded my you-tube video, the video does not appear on the site yet as you need to click onto the you-tube link to watch the video. I have informed the project owner and this will get fixed soon.

It will be great if Knacksteem can expand the categories. I am good at cooking and baking. Right now, I am not sure which category it fits in. I also like to show my swimming talent, but I am not sure which category it fits in either. Perhaps, there can be some sub-categories so that we know where cooking and sports belong.

6. Knacksteem Upcoming Events

The project owner will be hosting many contests in the coming weeks! They are considering rewarding unique talents with liquid bounties. A tipping system will take place in the community.

A notification system, sign-up module will soon be launched.

7. Comparing Knacksteem with other similar platforms

There are other media platforms like SteemPress, eSteem, Steempeak and Steepshot DApps. These blogging platforms focus on creating well-written content & showcasing photographs.

Knacksteem goes beyond just blogging good content of talents. It utilizes the Steem based reward system to diversify local economies. In this way, users can exchange Steem to fiat and vice-versa. Knacksteem is actually creating an avenue for foreign and local exchanges.
