Analog Experiments #3 - Gift Film/ From Sea to Industrial/ Adventures and experiments
A month ago I was given a roll of Film as a gift. I was in a bar and the bartender saw my film camera. he asked if i was mine and then passed by a few minutes later, giving me an unshot black and white film (ilford delta100).
It's not often you get a cool gift from a stranger so i decided to shoot the roll carefully and not waste it.
The first shots are from the coastline of Bulgaria, cause this is where i was when i got the film.
The morning after the bar we went out with a friend and i loaded the film. It was cold, the wind was very strong on the sand was covered in snow. The weather was interesting enough to be worth shooting that day.
We wanted to go to the lighthouse so we set foot trough the beach and on our way we met this wild dog playing whit his stick.
He was really making the most fun out of the situation. :D
We played with him a bit and went on with our plan.
Ten minutes later and already with soaking wet shoes we reached the lighthouse
Upon arrival I was mesmerised by not only the cold but also the view. I made this shot and went around the lighthouse to take a few more of what's out there.
Going to the other side, there was just the sea and the crash
And since it seemed a bit boring i returned and looked for other stuff. I found something i preped the camera and composed the shot. I pressed the shutter and BANG!!!
MY CAMERA FROZE. The one i was using is fully mechanical and the lube inside freezes around -5 Celsius .
Day went o and i used my digital camera and anothe film body that had no problems in the cold.
Back home i still had some shots in that film so i went street shooting.
And this was an awesome scene. I licked how there is a giant crusher truck next to the homeless man digging the trash.
This is shot at Sofia (the Bulgarian Capital) the contrast here is pretty strong and it's not seldom you see a scene like this. The city is full of all type of oddities and this is just one of them.
Here i tried caturing a long exposure of a ton of people passing. The shadows are the passers but this was an experiment and i learned that i need more people and them movig slower for this.
The inspiration behind this is the work of Alexey Titarenko (check him out) But im still far away from his results
After the shots of the city i still had a few frames in the roll. I went to an abandoned Truck factory with two fellow photographers. I menaged to finish the roll there :) this is what i got
The place was really huge. It looked as if somethin happened and everyone suddenly left the factory forever. There were gloves and shoes, gas masks and helmets all in ridiculous spots around the location
These are the shots that i like from what i did with this roll. The thing is that it has shots from all different locations and adventure so i really like that.
Have a nice day, Thanks for checking my post out an all best wishes for yall :D
Great post!
I found some bw films in my granddads cellar a few years ago. But unluckily the pictures became very blurry.
Keep up the good work.
