"Marriage associated with legalisation of relationships and religion acceptance"

Currently in western countries there are two types of marriage: civilian and religious. The first one is related with the legal rights of marriage, and the second is related with the religious rigths of marriage.

Why religious people are against the gay civilian marriage? They should only care about religious marriage, and allow gay people to enjoy the same legal advantages of marriage than straight couples have.
