100 Days of Making Comics - Day 13

Today our video is part one of a mini series that I'm doing on the Cheshire Cat Character sheet.
My basic process here is to collect reference, paint a figure, apply my favorite parts of different style references to that figure, and then eliminate things that have already contributed toward the final endpoint, until I have something that seems more remarkable to me than what I would have gotten just by going with my first thought, or just copying one style reference source.
It turned out after spending the day working on the body of the Cheshire Cat, and the colors, that I felt like the face was a bit basic, and could be better.
So, I'm going to spend tomorrow on the face.
I may even push it into 3 days and work out some accessories if I'm feeling like it.
Once I have this style guide completed, I'll be able to move confidently to finish Storyboard Ch. 3.
