# 491 - Canadian Commemoratives - Part 5
In 2005-2006 the Royal Canadian Mint issued a series called "National Parks Series" showing some of the many Canadian national parks.
Each coin weights 31.39g (1.01oz) with 99.99% silver purity and Proof finish.
Today we will see the 2006 $20 Nahanni National Park Reserve of Canada(Northwest Territories). Its mintage was 20,218 units and the issue price was $69.95 CAD.

I love Bears, too! The Bear is California's State animal and is depicted in the California Commemorative coin. Dang.... I gotta have me that coin! It is driving me crazy... wanting and desiring that coin. I could buy four years of the US State series for one California Commemorative coin.
For an uncirculated California you will pay around U$180. A graded MS-65 will cost around U$400. Not cheap.
Bears are a big theme on Canadian coins, I think there is a Circulating Toownie version of this somewhere.
I have many Canadian commemoratives depicting bears and the $2 coin shows a bear since 1996, when they substituted the $2 notes.
I think you are talking about the 2002 $2 "Golden Jubilee" or about the 2006 $2 "10th Anniversary of the Toonie". Both were circulating commemoratives.
Got both in my younger son's collection of circulating ,latest addition is the 2017 Aurora Borealis Glow in the dark Twoon but no bear I got in my change. @naltedtirt just featured the 2017 1.5 oz Ag Bullion Grizzly in his blog today.
