O RMS "Empress of Ireland" era um transatlântico que afundou perto da foz do rio São Lourenço, após uma colisão devido à densa neblina com o carvoeiro norueguês SS Storstad, ao amanhecer de 29 de maio de 1914.
Das 1.477 pessoas a bordo 1.012 morreram, sendo este o pior desastre marítimo em tempos de paz na História do Canadá.
Foram emitidas 7.003 unidades e seu preço de lançamento foi de $109,95 CAD.
