Haaland Could Save Ole
Erling Braut Haaland is talk of the town after Matchday 3 in the Champions League. He now has 6 goals in 3 games in this year's group stage. Salzburg may have been beaten by Napoli, but through no fault of the young 19 year old Norwegian. Even more impressive is the fact that he has done this against teams like Liverpool and Napoli. We're not talking about bad teams. 3 goals in 2 against those 2 sides was impressive enough, but a hat trick against Genk does no harm either. He now has 11 in 9 matches in the domestic league as well.
Haaland's form in the champions league remind me a little but of what Kylian Mbappe did for Monaco a few seasons back when he really burst onto the scene with his performances in the Champions League. Now, I'm not saying he's as good or even that similar a player to him, but he just has gotten my attention the same way. Through stand out performances in Europe's top club competition.
Which brings us to what Haaland can offer that could be an interesting development. Several weeks back I did mention that I feel Manchester United should just go out and get Allegri to be their coach as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just doesn't have the pedigree yet to be a coach of such a huge side. But Haaland would be exactly what the doctor ordered for Manchester United. Someone who can consistently score goals. He's a big guy and doesn't look like he would get bullied in the premier league the same way some players can't cut it in the English League. I don't see that as a big problem. Most importantly, he has a big connection with fellow Norwegian Solskjaer. Solskjaer was his coach at Molde before he was sold to Salzburg. Solskjaer may be the only reason this kid would even consider going to Manchester. His father after all played for City. But if he does have enough of a personal connection the Solskjaer that OGS can get him over the line and into the red half of Manchester, it may just be exactly what keeps the coach's job secure. In fact, it could even be the transfer that defines his career as a coach if he worked out.

Ole Could use Haaland desperately right now
While Allegri would likely still be the better choice on the whole, the more this kid develops in Salzburg the more you have to wonder if getting him is worth keeping Ole in charge. He'd be an infinitely smarter option over the aging Mandzukic and fits exactly the transfer style United are gunning for. Thing is, I see no reason other top clubs on the continent wouldn't be interested themselves. Barcelona have also shown interest and he would make a really good number 9 there to replace Suarez.

I should look out for him if I get to watch him in the champions league. I really do not know him but you've given him some good analysis...
Anyone one that can score goals consistently could really help Ole looking confident right now
