HASYIM AL-BAGHDADI (Master Of Calligraphy) Biography

Hashim Mohammed Al-Baghdadi is an Islamic calligrapher who was born in Baghdad in 1919 M.
Hashim was educated Ibtidaiyah. After that,he went to study calligraphy in some elementary schools. Hashim draws knowledge from his teacher named Al-Mala Arif Afandi and then studied at Al-Mala Ali Darwisy.

After that, Hashim continued his studies at the Tahsin al-Khuthuth Madrasah of Cairo and obtained a diploma with a very satisfying result in 1944. In the same year, Hashim obtained a diploma from Egyptian calligraphy Sayyid Ibrahim and Muhammad Husni. In drawing calligraphy, Hashim uses the Baghdad stream of older calligraphy and classical ta'shimi heritage which is then mixed into a more free, bold and modern Ottoman Ottoman school.
