in #life8 years ago (edited)

Say something about Stay hungry, Stay foolish, and Beidou navigation!

When I was on the road today, I suddenly remembered the famous quote Joe had made during his lifetime: Stay hungry, Stay foolish. What I used to think about this sentence is to ask people to maintain a thirsty attitude towards things, but today Suddenly I feel that the full meaning of Joe's lord should be to maintain his thirst for knowledge of the surrounding things, but also to clearly recognize his stupidity. The former is well-understood and maintains curiosity and a strong sense of learning about the surrounding things, especially new things. But why should I say to maintain a heart that thinks I am still stupid? That's because when people are complacent, many times, we tend to be complacent and even self-righteous, or we think that one-sided experience based on experience is good enough. When this occurs, if new stuff appears, we will easily disdain it. It is such stupid complacency thoughts that one can even consider and even reject. In many cases, we will lose many opportunities in vain. Therefore, I think that the intention of Joe Benjamin’s phrase should be to maintain a thirsty heart, but also to recognize his stupidity and not be complacent and lose his chance.

In the afternoon, just after setting off from the field, I was sadly reminded that the mobile phone was dead. I knew that I was relying on mobile navigation to go out. This lost my navigation and I suddenly felt very uncomfortable. All of a sudden it was a disarray. At night, most highways are dark, and the faint reflections on both sides of the highway under the illumination of the headlights can be seen. When approaching the signage, they must inevitably have their eyes widened to see the directions of the road. This is for my short sightedness. It cannot be said that it is not a small test. Oops

It was still relatively smooth along the way. When there are twenty or thirty kilometers in the vicinity of the city, the lights on both sides are suddenly picked up. The distant outline of the city can be seen in the distance.

It seems that this is going out and navigation is really inseparable. When we thought of the Taiwan Strait crisis of the last century, our equipment at that time relied on GPS navigation, but at a crucial moment, Laomi turned off some areas of GPRS signals, which directly caused our warships and guided weapons to become blind. After that, China finally decided to develop its own satellite navigation system, which is now known as the Beidou navigation system.

Speaking of the development of Beidou navigation, there are interesting stories. We know that currently the world includes GPS in the United States, Galileo in Europe, GLONASS in Russia, and the Beidou system independently developed in China. When we started to develop the Beidou system in the early days, we originally hoped to participate in the research and development of the Galileo system in Europe. However, Europe has done a very sizable job, accepting only Chinese funds and preventing China from participating in core technology research and development. After the success, China purchased and refused to sell Galileo's core technology. This is certainly unacceptable.

In desperation, China accelerated the development of the autonomous Beidou system and formally announced that Beidou-2 navigation system uses the same PRS frequency band as the European Galileo satellite. The satellite communication channel is based on who has the principle of first and foremost. The principle of first-come first-servance was set by Western developed countries. This in turn made Europe agonizing, but the most embarrassing is that until our country, Beidou has been successfully developed and officially used in military and commercial applications. At the meeting, Europe also discussed chatter about Galileo's navigation. . . As for the official use? The ghost only knows when he can use it.

Indeed a great post, and we have lots of things to think. Thanks @rivalhw for always giving us such interesting and useful stuff by spending your quality time for us steemians. Keep it up and always Stay Blessed!
