Thalassophobia

I have Thalassophobia and which doesn't let me go close to open water. I have the fear to open dark deep natural water. Though I'm okay with the sea and swimming pool water. I only have a problem with deep dark water. I'm a brave girl, you know! But I don't know maybe it's because I had some bad experience that leads to trauma or I fear the unknown.

You can't imagine how it feels, how the fear controls me when I go close to any natural open water. It mostly happens when it come s to ponds, river or lacks. I just can't make myself go into the water. In my whole life, I only can remember one or two times I was in the natural water. I also don't boat ride or don't take any water vehicle for this reason.

Oh! I hate it. I hate it so much that I can't go, I hate it so much that I can't swim freely like others, I hate it that I can't deal with this fear.

When I was in my seven, I almost drown in a pond. I still can remember some flashes of the incident. I still can feel the suffocation and the uncomfort.

But I know this is not only the whole reason for my phobia. I'm okay with the sea and swimming pool water. I can't even tolerate watching any underwater video for long. The underwater scenario of any pond or lacks freaks me out.

I love to see how people enjoy in open water. And I sometimes feel I should have the experience of that excitement. But yeah, when it comes to making the decision I decide it's better not to experience everything. My life would not be incomplete without it. :)
