Most of you here who have met me, would know that I am a mother, and what most would consider a "young mom".

Yes I had kids young, I was only 21/22, and I definitely didn't feel ready to be a parent then, especially living in a society where most women don't have kids until they're 30.

But when I fell pregnant at 21/22, not once did I consider that I didn't want to do this. I knew deep down, I would honour the commitment of being a parent, as best as I knew how, and however hard it would be.

And of course, it was hard, for many many reasons it was hard, even if just for the fact that I had only just started my 20s. At that age, I couldn't even say that I truly knew who I was.

At 25/26, I fell pregnant with my 2nd and youngest, Kaira. Again, I didn't feel ready for another child, it was tough in many ways, but I was glad to be allowed the chance to do things differently, and show what I had learnt from my first.

For most of my youth, I'd consider that I was quite the emotional cripple. Being a parent was what showed me what it truly means to love someone. My husband had a massive part to play in this too. But being a parent, and having a life dependent on you is really another level of love.

Kaira is turning 3 tomorrow (which means she'll officially be out of toddlerhood), and I always try to do a sort of "memory keepsake" for them when they have special birthdays, and to just show how much I love them. So I wanted to make this tribute post for her, that will forever be on the Steem blockchain!

So here it is, this is Kaira!

She had a beautiful water birth, in the comfort of our home

She grew to be a beautiful and chunky baby

She didn't sleep through the night in the beginning, but she did sleep sometimes

She was in such a hurry to grow up

She was breastfed until I couldn't anymore

She is well loved

She is an ice cream lover, mayo lover, and general food lover

She can be the wisest, cheekiest, cutest, loudest or most curious little human, whenever she wants to be

She is a big time watermelon lover

She is uniquely her

She is a budding traveller and world experiencer

She is a nature loving superstar

She has the perfect big sister for her

She is just awesome. I hope she continues to grow up happy, healthy and whole!
