Charleston, SC - Checking into the beautiful Zero George Street
The Zero George Street hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, boasts the perfect balance of old-world luxury and Southern charm. The property is comprised of several remodeled historic buildings and carriage houses, each over a 150 years old, surrounding a quiet brick lined courtyard oozing with character. After my first trip to Charleston, I could not wait to return and check-in to the Zero George. A stay at this boutique property perfectly sets the scene for a Southern experience in the historic city of Charleston.
Accommodations: The rooms are spacious and well-appointed with an almost spa-like feel, further complimented by the Malin + Goetz toiletries provided in the bathrooms. The staff at the Zero George embodies the quintessence of Southern hospitality. During my solo stay, they went above and beyond to make sure I felt perfectly welcome and at home. A call down to the front desk began to feel more like a friendly phone call to a friend or neighbor.
Location: Although located in a residential part of Charleston, the Zero George is just a short walk from King Street and Market Street. It is also just a block from the brand new event venue, the Charleston Gaillard Center.
Nosh: The Zero George is fit for foodies! The main carriage house serves as a guest reception area. Upon entering, you can't help but notice the beautiful exposed show kitchen where meals are prepared and cooking classes for guests are regularly held. The Zero Restaurant + Bar serves up award winning dishes and nightly happy hours. A fresh and locally sourced breakfast, included every morning in your room rate, is the perfect way to start the day.
