Experincing My First Ever Tournament in Steem Monsters

I wasn’t particularly into digital card games in the past and never even tried to give “Hearthstone” or “Magic the Gathering” a go. But I had heard of them. Anyway, the reason I started to play "Steem Monsters" was because my husband @ezzy and myself have been quite involved in Steemit and I wanted to help support good Dapp that is based on the Steem Blockchain. Plus he was so enthusiastic about how good it is, lol! So I gave it a go and now I also have become a hug fan of the game, lol.

For anyone who is not familiar with "Steem Monsters", this is basically a collectable, tradable digital card game for the STEEM blockchain, created by our very own talented team of @aggroed and @yabapmatt. The rules of the game are quite simple and easy to pick up. I would advice it is preferable to initially invest a little into some cards but I think it is totally worthy in the long run as these cards would be your owned digital assets forever and hopefully overtime the value of each card will go up as the popularity increases.

The game is genuinely fun, very addictive and super challenging! To win the game, you don’t need to spend a lot of money as long as you select your cards wisely. The more games you win, the more cards you can get. A great way to practice and learn how to manage resources in real life too I suppose, lol! That is how I see it.

This week, I am trying to climb up the leaderboard from way down and so far my league ranking is Diamond III, still a long way to go to the top which is Champion. However last night, encouraged by @ezzy, I tested out the "Steem Monster" Tournament feature for the first time ever and I found the game to be even more fun to play!

It must be beginner’s luck or something, but I managed to get up to Round four, obtaining a final ranked position of 6th place amongst 88 players who entered the tournament! Don’t ask me how, but I'll take it, haha!

And the funny part was that I even battled my good friend @exyle and defeated him! I must get better though because I'm sure he will try his best to not let it happen again. But he is an excellent player so I consider myself quite lucky.

I was so thrilled that I got rewarded 5 STEEM for the win. Who would have thought you could make STEEM whilst having so much fun! This is honestly one of the best thing I have ever experienced on our blockchain. Really grateful to everyone involved in making this a reality.

Have you played "Steem Monsters"? Feel free to share your experience down below. And if you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for?

I cannot agree more, lol. Thanks @masterthematrix for dropping by!!

Congrats!

Thank you!

It has been a conscientious effort on my part to avoid SMs, knowing my addictive gaming personality would hook me hard. It was nice to experience it vicarioysly through your play. A post explaining the play by play would be great for those of us in GA ( Gamers' Anonymous). 🤓
