Hey There! Raymondspeaks here. Veteran writer, published author, and well-rounded introspective man-personsteemCreated with Sketch.

Okay, so, I've been scraping new and awesome projects on Steem Engine as of late. I first found this place about a month ago when my friend @ana.nouk introduced me to cashing out my DEC in steem monsters. On the surface level I hadn't given it much thought; to me Steem engine at first was a way to cash out and this was all - a numbers crunching platform that paid me the money -- show me the money!!

Alas, I later learned that it was so much more than that. It was an answer to the SMT tokens solution Steemit had always been talking about. I liked it.

I had abandoned steem and steemit more than a year ago because that place seems to unfairly disenfranchise pure content creators like myself. We came for the rewards but in the end were met with upvote bots; a system that monetised essentially what was a free service. Now I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong -- the best thing about Steemit is that you can just about do anything that you want to, including offering your vote up for a fee. Business is business. But to me that was the end of that. I should have powered up my stake when I had the chance to. The fault is mine at the end of the day.

On steem-engine I've found quite a few interesting side projects. One that I like, epic dice. I'm not a gambler, but I DO like holding their tokens for a share of the profits every day -- one thing being a degenerate gambler in my youth has taught me is that the house always wins. So I bought into Epic dice, quite heavily actually.

Through that I found Neoxian Silver - now I'd heard about this chappy before back in the whaleshares saga. I used to read his content but I was unsure how to contact him -- his outlook was interesting to me, and it seemed as if he was a businessman that whilst creating something amazing for himself, he likes to take his community with him. Dismayed that I had no idea how to get hold of him (which I'm now realising if I asked my friends in some of the servers I'm in then they'd have known) I closed that door on that part of my life. Then of course today came around.

On Steem engine I found neoxian silver; something that I was instantly interested in because whenever I hear that name I generally think forward thinking business potential. And thus led me to this community. Bought myself some stake, and will be buying some more next week. I'm interested! Very! Also interested in how this platform closely ties in with steem -- and that's something I've never seen before either.

So here is me, Raymond, veteran author. Published mainstream and also in the cryptosphere. Some people might say I'm omnipresent, I on the other hand may call it spreading myself thin. I'm not on every other platform that has dropped since steem; I tend to like the ones that differ in look and feel. But this place, this place interested me. Let's say I was gravitated to the positivity of it all. And, there's a lot of people I know on here. Strangely enough! (*cough, why didn't you guys tell me this before, cough* lol)

I write generally articles on mental health, men and fatherhood, but lately I've been trying to branch outside of my area. I'm kind of running out of ideas because I have literally thousands of pieces in the mental health niche in my arsenal, and it's time I tried something a bit new. After all, in my opinion a talented writer is one that can take their hand to all sorts of diverse topics and have them read just as well. Time will tell.

I'm also the founder & owner of the mancave, but that's a story for another day -- something that exists in the background like a sleeping lion, waiting to pounce. :)

Thanks for having me guys!!

Hi and welcome here! When I started on steemit, my biggest problem was to find interesting people to interact with. So, to help newcomers getting started I created a directory with other interesting and or talented steemians to follow or interact with. Feel free to check it out at https://www.steemiandir.com I am sure it will help you find like-minded people. Enjoy your stay here and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Welcome to Steemit raymondspeaks. The official FAQ can be found here and has A LOT of information https://steemit.com/faq.html - Also remember, Steemit is just ONE of the sites built that uses Steem the blockchain. You should also check out DTube and DSound for starters and if you're a gamer, Splinterlands! There are many other cool apps but I can't list them all here, there's just too many! But I'd also like to mention Steempeak, it's a better blogging platform that has a lot of cool features. The latest project you should also check as a new member is a palnet! Welcome to the blockchain! :) Oh, and if you're interested in creating your own tokens or smart contracts, check Steem engine!

Hi Raymond, welcome to SteemIt. Good luck on your Steem journey and I wish you the best. I've been here since 2016 but it was only last June when I fully committed to take Steem seriously. Please feel free to read my STEEMJOURNEY.

Here are also some tools that I use and I hope you can find them useful too:

  1. Use Partiko App from your mobile phone to post to your blog, comment, and upvote content in SteemIt to earn points which you can use to boost your own content.
  2. If you’re into games, you may wanna try playing Steem Monsters, a blockchain game based on Steem. It lets you compete with other players around the world with creature cards which you can sell and/or convert to crypto.
  3. Get rewarded for staying fit and healthy with ActiFit - a Steem-based app which rewards you with tokens (which you can eventually use to boost your content) for being physically active. If you're already using Fitbit or a similar app, then you'll find this easy to use.
  4. Invest your Steem Power at Smart Steem and get daily rewards and earn more Steem.
  5. Earn rewards by sharing links to interesting webpages through DLike and earn Dlike tokens
  6. Exchange votes with other users with SteemEngine.Net
  7. Steempeak and eSteem both offer an intuitive way of using Steem, enhancing your user experience.
