Feeling bad giving 0 cents upvotes
Hi community,
Am I the only one feeling bad about upvoting? I mean sometimes I've read a post that is so good and I wish I can give some love and upvote it and then I remember my vote is worth nothing, so I decide not to vote. I guess authors are also seeing this decrease in votes. I'm not sure if they wanted to reduce overall voting, or stop voting bots or what? Like it does not make sense in my opinion. I guess a better approach would be to add more decimals to the post worth so if my vote is worth 0.0005 at least many upvotes will add up to a cent or two if the post is getting enough votes.
What do you think? Has this happen to you? Do you feel the same?

Yeah so the best thing to do is to increase your steem power , that way you will have stronger influence when voting on well worth it posts !! Good posts !

I would still vote, it was the same when I first joined, your steem power will grow with you. Voting for someone is better than not voting. You vote then I will come check your post out, you don't vote it looks like you don't care :)

There have been times when I've actually seen the value of a post go down because I upvoted it. I do not understand this and feel like shit when it happens. Then, I upvote another post and it increases value. I just don't get it.
That's true, I answer someone else post's and tried to explain why sometimes you feel like the vote acted like a down vote, that's not the case but it might be more related with the value of steem and the upvote action acts like a refresher for the post value itself. Also when someone remove the vote and then you vote it will work the same way. Thanks for replying and reading the post.
It's a confusing system, one I can't completely explain and I'm on a different machine and don't have my saved links. You have several things you have to balance out in order to vote and participate. That is your personal "Voting Power" and Your "Bandwidth." If your Bandwidth goes zero, you can't do anything, nada, zip. If your voting power goes zero, your votes become worthless. Every time you vote, you use a percentage of your voting power. Now this voting power replenishes about 20% per day (takes 5 days to completely restore). It all depends on how much Steem/Steem Power you have but I believe you can only vote about 10 times a day without depleting your Voting Power. This is done I think to help focus voting on worth wild post and not so much people just voting up friends etc.
You can view both Voting Power and Bandwidth on Steemd.com (I believe you insert @/your user name) or you can view Voting Power on Steemdb.com (can't recall how to find accounts. I personally keep them both open and monitor them regularly. Now there is a new Google Chrome Steem header or what ever it's called that will display a lot of Steem info like a ticker symbol above or near your page tags. I haven't played with it yet and can't remember if this includes voting power and bandwidth.
