What is Spam?

Steemit

If you are ever going to post anything related to Korea, South Korea or North Korea, avoid using the #kr tag, unless you are Korean. If you are not Korean, the Koreans will flag your post as spam and say you are spamming the kr tag.

Take this post for example:

https://steemit.com/science/@randompic/experts-take-on-north-koreas-nuketest

The post is about Korea and the video is from South Korean news with Koreans from South Korea talking about North Korea. There is nothing non Korean about this post and the Koreans still flagged it and say it is spamming the kr tag. Am I missing something here? Does anyone reading this even care?

These Koreans apparently don't even know what spam is and I have tried to explain it to them in the most simple way possible. I even posted the definition of spam but they still don't understand what it means, yet they flag members for this nonsense.

I also showed them the Steemit FAQ section where it states that there are "no official rules" on Steemit. They still don't get it. Not only are they abusing the flag and don't even know what spam means, they also make up their own rules and impose them on members.

If someone posted a non Korean post using the tag, I could understand them saying that they are "misusing" the tag, which is all it is.

What's even more ridiculous is they misuse tags too while they are telling other members not to do it. Like this one about what Korean members flagged and reported" so called spam.

They are using the steem tag and it has nothing to do with Steem. I usually don't care what other members do and if I don't like someone's post, I just mute them. But this is nonsense.

Let's see if they flag this post.

콜라(kr)와 쥬스(cn)가 섞이면 넌 먹겠니? 그것은 스티밋 자체에도 안좋다.

Show me a rule where it says I can't use the cn and kr tag for the same post? If you don't like it, just mute me and mind your own business. You did not create this website.

What is bad for Steemit are the robocops who make up their own rules and flag members. It's a bunch of nonsense garbage.

강아지 그림은 촤암 귀엽긴하네..
무서워서가 아니라 덜어웟어 그냥 넘어가본다.

Maybe they want that the #kr tag is used only for korean language. Like #fr is for posts in french. The #france tag is used for posts about the country. You could use the #Korea tag.
I agree that english posts about Korea in the #kr tag is not spam. But it seems that the korean steemit community dont want that.

Maybe they just have no life and need something to do. The kr tag is not just for them and they use English tags too and i'm sure they wouldn't like it if they were flagged for that.
