Physics is a broad field of science in which Mechanics is subset. Hence, quantum physics and quantum mechanics don't technically mean the same since mechanics is one of the specialized fields in physics that deals with movement of matter. However, people usually use these terms interchangeably.

1. Quantum mechanics

Quantum mechanics is the basic branch of physics that replaces classical mechanics at the level of atoms and subatoms. Quantum mechanics is part of quantum field theory and general quantum physics, which, along with general relativity, is one of the pillars of modern physics. The basis of quantum mechanics is that energy is not continuous, but discrete - in the form of 'packages' or 'quanta'. This concept is quite revolutionary, because it contradicts classical physics which assumes that energy is sustainable.

Quantum mechanics is very useful to explain the behavior of subatomic atoms and particles such as protons, neutrons and electrons that do not obey the laws of classical physics. Atom is usually described as a system where electrons (which are electrically negative) circulate around the atomic nucleus (which has a positive electric charge).

2. Quantum physics

Quantum physics is often called general relativity which is one of the pillars of modern physics. The basis of quantum mechanics is that energy is not continuous, but discrete - in the form of 'packages' or 'quanta'. This concept is revolutionary - opposed to the classic movement which assumes that energy is sustainable. These differences are due to Quantum Physics occupying moving material as waves and as matter.

Quantum physics also shows that we can change the past, that time is an illusion, and that there is life after death. Quantum mechanics is basically the science of consciousness and spirituality, it proves how connected we are to things in existence, all of which are illusions.
