This is brilliant. when I lived off grid, I used to simply get my heated food (brought to boil stew or soup) then wrap it in towels and blankets and leave it - worked a treat and saved on gas.
I could take this a step further and bring food to boil on the rocket stove 😄 but my new shiny pot will come out all black like coal 😰

Thank you 😊 I have my share of little wooden things around the house such as a toilet paper holder or a step for my boy to reach the sink when brushing his teeth. Wood is an awesome material

Cool idea!
I use to have a solar oven that was an insulated box - black inside with a little rack in the middle to set your food on. It had large fan shaped reflectors on it that caught all the sun's rays and reflected it into the black box part. There was a plexiglass window in the front of the box.
Point it at the sun and it works like a charm easily getting the oven over 300 degrees.
Great for hot summer days when you don't want to heat up you house.
