Savana stared absent mindedly ahead of her at what was now nothing but a blur of shapes and colours. Hoping her mind would fill with story ideas for her story for "A day in the life of..." for Creative writing. The only thing her teacher told them was to "write from the heart"
Savana has always seen herself as living a pretty plain and dull life and could think of nothing to write about that would perfectly capture her. The pen began tapping on the table from her automatic finger motions. Her mind still blank along with the page that lay before her. A sudden jolt of shock filled her body as a hand suddenly appeared on her shoulder. She turned to face Nash smiling kindly at her.
"This seat taken?" He asked in his hypnotic British accent. Not waiting for her to answer, he sits down next to her and reality quickly reappears. Revealing the busy campus grounds and students scattered all over the place.
She cleared her throat "Hey"
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare ya"
She smiled awkwardly and stared back down at her blank page. She could suddenly feel her cheeks burn and her heart flutter. Glad that her black locks hid her face she began to doodle nervously. Nash let out a cute snort and pulled out his note pad from his badge covered bag. Just like most of the other girls in Blue Water College of the Arts, Savana had a big crush on Nash. Everything about him was just absolute perfection. From the way his perfect brown curls rested on his shoulders to the way he dressed, talked, and acted like the perfect gentleman around every girl. He carried a photo of his family in his wallet that Savana had seen when he paid for her coffee after she idiotically forgot hers in her dorm room. He always smelled like he had just gotten out of the shower. He was nothing like other guys, he had respect for girls and knew almost everyone by name.
"You having as much trouble with this as I am?" He asked pulling her out of yet another daze.
"A little. I just can't really see how my life would be interesting enough to read"
"That can't be true." His infectious laugh caused her to laugh as well.
" It's true" She says still laughing " I probably have one of the most average, boring lives anyone can get"
"Prove it" He challenged her.
"Ok I'll make you a deal, a question for a question"
"Sure, I can do that. I'll start" He cleared his throat and tried to look as serious as he possibly could, the smile in his eyes the only hint at his light-heartedness "What do you wanna know"
Taking a minute to think it over she replied "How old were you when you had your first kiss"
"Um... Thirteen" He said proudly "Now you"
"You're not gonna believe me but, never"
A look of shock filled his blue eyes before he burst into laughter. "Ok wait no" She corrected herself "I accidentally kissed my best friend in tenth grade"
"How do you accidentally kiss someone?"
"Well we were at a birthday party and we were playing this game; a group makes a circle and you put something on your lips like, I dunno, we used a chocolate, which was still in it's wrapping of course. And you pass it around with your hands behind your back. When it got to him he accidentally dropped it and our lips touched"
"You sure it was accidental?"
"Well... I dunno... He said it was"
"I doubt it. Ok my turn. Most embarrassing thing that has ever happend to you."
"Really?" The heat returned to her cheaks and her eyes landed on her knees.
"Yes!"
"Please don't laugh"
"I won't" a smile already appearing on his face
"Promise?"
"Promise" He said as he made an X over his heart and held the other hand up as if taking an oath.
