Ya, mengupvote sebanyak 10 tulisan dalam sehari adalah jumlah optimal yang kami sarankan. Kurang dari 10 kita akan merugi, karena voting power (daya upvote) yang kita miliki di hari itu akan terbuang sia-sia. Lebih dari 10 juga akan merugi, karena voting power kita menjadi terlalu kecil untuk mendapatkan bayaran yang cukup.

Kenapa 10 kali, apa alasannya? Hal ini berkaitan dengan desain cara kerja ekonomi di Steemit secara keseluruhan yang telah dirancang oleh Dan Larimer.

Mekanisme Upvote
Ide dasarnya, upvote adalah cara di Steemit untuk membayar sebuah tulisan. Ketika kita mengupvote sebuah tulisan, maka pada hakekatnya kita sedang memindahkan sejumlah STEEM/SBD dari Kolam Bayaran ke rekening sementara tulisan tersebut. Dan setelah 7 hari sejak tulisan itu terbit, maka dana di rekening sementara tadi dapat diklaim oleh penulisnya, dan ditransfer ke wallet si penulis untuk menjadi miliknya secara permanen.
Upvote Mechanism
The basic idea, upvote is the way in Steemit to pay a post. When we are upvoting a post, we are essentially moving a number of STEEM/SBD from Reward Pool to temporary account of the post. And after 7 days since the post was published, the funds in the temporary account may be claimed by the author, and transferred to the wallet of the author to be his/her funds permanently.

Ini juga masa di mana si penulis mempunyai kesempatan untuk mengedit dan mengubah isi tulisannya. Selepas masa ini maka tertutuplah sudah kesempatan-kesempatan itu. Tulisan tidak lagi bisa diupvote, diresteem maupun diedit, tetapi hanya bisa dibaca dan diberi komentar saja.

Karena proses upvote akan memindahkan sejumlah dana dari kolam bayaran yang merupakan milik komunitas bersama, harus ada cara untuk memastikan bahwa proses upvote ini tidak disalahgunakan. Maka untuk itu diperlukanlah adanya semacam batas yang bisa membatasi jumlah upvote yang dilakukan oleh pengguna.

Dan voting power lah yang menjadi batas itu. Di awal hari, mula-mula kita akan mempunyai voting power sebesar 100%, di mana jumlah dana yang bisa dipindahkan dari kolam bayaran adalah maksimal. Setiap kali kita mengupvote, maka voting power akan berkurang sebesar 2%, yaitu menjadi 98%, lalu 96%, 94% dst. Sehingga dalam 50 kali upvote, voting power akan habis menjadi 0% di mana upvote sama sekali tidak bisa memindahkan dana sedikitpun.

And voting power is the limit. In the beginning of the day, we will initially have a voting power of 100%, in which the amount of funds that can be moved from the pool is maximal. Every time we upvote, then the voting power will be reduced by 2%, i.e. become 98%, then 96%, 94% and so on. Jumlah dana yang dipindahkan oleh setiap upvote tidaklah sama jumlahnya, tetapi tergantung dari beberapa faktor. Yang pertama adalah voting power di atas, dalam kondisi 100% jumlah dana yang dipindahkan adalah maksimal, sementara pada kondisi 0% tidak ada dana yang berpindah. Yang kedua adalah STEEM power yang kita miliki, apakah sedikit (minnow), banyak (dolphin), atau sangat banyak (whale). Upvote seorang dolphin bisa berharga berkali-kali lipat seorang minnow, dan upvote seorang whale bisa berharga berkali-kali lipat seorang dolphin.
The amount of funds moved by each upvote is not the same, but depends on several factors. First is the voting power above, at condition 100% the amount of funds moved is maximal, while at condition 0% no funds move. The second is STEEM power that we have, whether a bit (minnow), lots (dolphin), or very much (whale). A dolphin's upvote can worth many times of a minnow, and a whale's upvote can worth many times of a dolphin.

Karena voting power bisa berkurang, maka harus ada mekanisme untuk mengisinya kembali. Mekanisme pengisian kembali voting power ini dikenal sebagai recharge. Proses recharge ini berlangsung otomatis dan terus menerus tanpa kita perlu melakukan apa-apa. Dan kecepatan recharge ini adalah sebesar 20% voting power dalam sehari, atau setara dengan 10 kali upvote. Nah, dari sinilah keluar angka jumlah upvote optimal di atas.

This recharge process takes place automatically and continuously without needing us to do anything. And the recharge speed is 20% voting power in a day, or the equivalent of 10 times upvote. Well, from here come out the number of optimal upvote above.
Jumlah Upvote Optimal
Ketika kita mengupvote sebanyak 10 kali dalam sehari, maka voting power akan berkurang sebesar 20% di hari itu, yaitu tinggal 80%. Tetapi karena kecepatan recharge juga sebesar 20% per hari, maka pada keesokan harinya voting power sudah kembali full 100% lagi, dan siap untuk melakukan upvote sebanyak 10 kali lagi, recharge lagi dst.
Optimal Number Of Upvote
When we are upvoting 10 times a day, the voting power will be reduced by 20% on that day, which become 80%. But since the recharge speed is also 20% per day, then on the next day voting power is back full 100% again, and ready to perform upvotes 10 times again, recharge again etc.
Kalau kita mengupvote kurang dari 10 kali dalam sehari, katakan cuma 5 kali misalnya, maka voting power cuma berkurang sebesar 10%. Dan karena proses recharge akan berhenti setelah voting power 100%, maka di hari itu proses recharge juga cuma sebesar 10% saja. Itu artinya kita merugi 10% voting power lagi yang mustinya kita dapatkan dari proses recharge.
If we upvote less than 10 times a day, say only 5 times for example, then the voting power is only reduced by 10%. And because the recharge process will stop after voting power 100%, then on that day the recharge process is also 10% only. That means we lose the other 10% voting power which we should get from the recharge process.
Sebaliknya kalau kita mengupvote lebih dari 10 kali dalam sehari, katakan sampai 15 kali misalnya, maka voting power kita akan berkurang sampai 30%, yaitu tinggal 70% saja. Kemudian setelah direcharge sebesar 20%, esok harinya menjadi cuma 90% saja. Maka kita pun merugi, karena jumlah dana yang bisa dipindahkan oleh upvote kita menjadi tidak maksimal.
Conversely if we upvote more than 10 times a day, say up to 15 times for example, then our voting power will be reduced by 30%, ie to be only 70%. Then after recharged by 20%, the next day become 90% only. So we also lose, because the amount of funds that can be moved by our upvote is not maximal.
